Incidentally, I was at the herpotology show in Live Oak last month. You could buy a spectacler cobra or spitting cobra for under $1,000, and one guy had a pair of king cobras over six feet in length for $1,500.
Poison dart frogs were $40 each. Rattlesnakes were $250. I didn't look at the price for the black widows or brown recluse spiders.
