Description
I'm happy with this, a LOT! Black hair is always a pain to color, but I finally managed to give this a more natural look. More water, a thinner brush and lots of water afterwards did the trick. For the background I used the same color but with more water on each layer to achieve that effect. (It looks like fire! <3)Full view is appreciated! It looks better, there are a lot of details on the hair!
Gaian commision.

Very good job with the black hair. I have a hard time with it too, but I am obsessed with black hair so I'd better get good quick. >_<

Thanks a lot for the comment! I'm currently obsessed with watercolors, trying to learn and practice as much as I can.

You're right, black hair is terrible to color! But you've made it look wonderful! I think I'm going to take note of this for when I draw black hair next . . .
Also, the background on this is so soft and lovely, it makes me think of blossoming trees.

Also ... You know what helped me a lot? Short, quick strokes with the damp brush. Then, when it dried up, I used less water but the same quick strokes... ^^
At first, I wanted to paint a raising sun, but I thought that was waaaaay to cliche, so I used this and it came out very spontaneously. At the end, I loved it. It does look like cherry blossoms! Thanks for the comment!

Short, quick strokes . . . I'm honestly making note of that!
I think you're right about the rising sun. The abstract background works well and isn't distracting (as a sun might be). You're very welcome!

I loved that hairstyle on the very first moment I saw it. It looks so asian, and elegant, like a samurai. It's just awesome, it made me want to color it as best as I could. Thank you!
