I love the focus here and also, good thing you made this black and white. I assume the chess pieces are not black and white, and this way you made your picture cleaner. also, a good thing you chose wooden rather than plastic chess pieces for this shot; the decoration on them is a bonus very nice!

Yes, you're right, they're not black and white. They are brown and beige And thank you very much for these kind words That makes me happy

I like this photo, it's very good. The only thing I would change is the orientation of the figures in the picture. They look a little bit like they are leaning to the right side instead of being vertical. It's just a little bit, not much, but this somehow disturbs me.

There is something really cool about this photo. Not sure exactly what, but it's definitely amazing. It would be nice to see the king and piece behind the king a little sharper though.

You're not the first one saying this. But I can't change it now. Thank you anyway

It's advice you can use next time you decide to do something like this.

Wonderfull demonstration of depth of field. I'm just asking myself what would happen to the piece if you shifted the focal area to the king, softening down the draughts. Maybe it could add even more depth.

Lovely picture, I really like the light and the depth in it. I do how ever wish you'd left a bit more air around the chess pieces and straightened the picture a bit. Except for that, great shot. (:
