"Dev...I just tripped!"

The Duck did not look convinced, weaving his sword around wildly and glaring off into the enchanted woods.

"Nonsense!" He quacked, "I have a sense for these things. We're under attack."

"By who? We're in Avalaon, there isn't an enemy within two dimensions of here?!?" Alchemica sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Void Chylde?" the old Duck suggested querulously.

"In prison." Alchemica responded, getting to her feet and dusting herself off.

"The Bratts?"

"On Earth, can we get moving?"

"He of the Sabihoon?" Dev continued, sounding a little less confident.

"Oh come on, you are making that one up!" Alchemica snapped. "And watch where you're waving that sword, you are the biggest danger around here right now!"

"I didn't make it up" Dev huffed, "He is a character mentioned in the works of the great Fritz Leiber...what do you kids read today?" Dev put his sword away.

"Fritz Lieber, did he do those old movies?"

"No, that was Fritz Lang. Jessica I know I created you as a blonde but really?"

"Okay...if a certain chubby Duck wants to spend the rest of the trip as a small chubby toad...keep yapping!" Alchemcia crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow suggestively.

"I am not chubby, that is winter weight." Dev muttered.

"Are we done?"

"Yes, yes. I was just looking out for you you know?" Dev looked down at the ground and kicked up some leaves with a webbed foot.

"I know you were, but I can look after myself. Okay?" Alchemica lifted Dev's hat and planted a kiss on his feathered forehead.

"Ahem...yes...well..." Dev stammered. "Shall we be off?"

The two started down the track in companionable silence for oh at least five steps...and then...

"You sound a little hoarse, did you take your vitamin C this morning?"

"Dev..."

"Well you need to speak to use your magic, and if you lose your voice, that is right when the Raccoon Ninjas pounce!"

"Okay, now I know you just made that shit up! Whoever heard of Raccoon Ninjas?" Alchemica asked angrily.

" Dee is training an army of them right now!. You look flushed, are you running a fever???"

"DEV!!!!!"

Alchemica didn't need to be a seer to know it was going to be a long and trying journey...

I received this piece a while back from my friend

Apparently I agreed to chronicle...something...

Generally speaking ofc I don't appear in any art but I do make exceptions.

I also have the reputation of being an ogre and over protective when it comes to use of my characters. I just want to assure everyone that this reputation...is well deserved

But that doesn't mean I can't poke fun at myself right?

Alchemica and the mentioned Void Chylde and Bratt Pak are my oc's and my not be used without my permission

Ducks belong to Jamez Masonz, except Dev Ducks who represent me and also may not be used without my permission. Lady Q has ofc permission to have me tag along as Chronicler on her adventures if she wishes
