Yeah.... BTW, in the book "Acté of Corinth" by Alexandre Dumas, Sporus was the twin brother of Sabina Poppaea. Nero married Sporus when Sabina died at the hands of Nero. There is little written about Sporus, sadly... but it is interesting to read.

Twin brother, really?
Well, now I started reading Augustus by Alan Massie, about the rise of Emperor Augustus after the murder of Julius Caesar... I'm trying to get more acquainted on Julian-Claudian dinasty. I still have to finish the book Memoires of Agrippine...
I was very disappointed to find out that Valerio Manfredi didn't refer to Bagoas in his books about Alexander the Great... I only read the first volume and immediately put the next one away when I noticed it was too heteronormative.

Thanks, but it's HE. He is a male and eunuch, and real historical person

So beautiful and so full of tragedy. His poise is full of grace and acceptance...with an unfortunate gaze full sorrowful resolve. How unfortunate he is only remembered for Nero' s insanity.

Thank you, darling! Yes, it's very sad story, given that he committed suicide when the subsequent emperor of Rome wanted to dishonor him publicly. Sporus could not bear such a disgrace and therefore preferred death.
I do not know how he was in reality, but I prefer to believe that he was a sensitive and tender person, with a sense of honor and at the same time accepting himself as he is.

Poor Sporus. His history is a tragedy of slavery and rape.

Yes, but it does not interfere with paying tribute to his beauty and his personality. Nobody of the artists depicted him. Unfortunately, many do not know even about his existence.

Sporus is absolutely beautiful here, Deva. I'm always excited to see new artwork from you when it pops up in my notifications.
