While my one year milestone comes at a rather difficult time, I felt strange about staying completely silent.

As such, I have created a very simple juxtaposition image, which shows off my very first picture of Golden Star here on dA, versus my most recent. When I initially rejoined the fandom in late August of last year, I felt strange about not having an OC, and thus, Golden Star was born. This was really the main motivating factor in creating her, and I believe that's pretty apparent from her initial design.

Like some others, I fell into the trap of basing my design off of my favourite canon character, which in this case, was Twilight Sparkle. As time went on, I felt less and less satisfied with her, and in December of last year, decided to do a complete redesign. The main differences being a less toilet-waste inspired colour palette, and a more unique mane and tail. (not to mention the eventual transition from pegasus to earth pony.) Throughout this past year, I have drawn Golden intermittently, and I believe each picture has shown a pretty steady improvement in my art as a whole.

While I'm still a long way off from where I'd like to be, I'm very satisfied with how far I've come in just one year. While my schedule will most likely still be off for a little while yet, I hope to get back to frequent uploads eventually. Thank you all for your support throughout this past year.
