“Have you ever had a dream that feels more existential than reality?
Like they’re asking you to wake up, but when you do, you become less awake.
Like in reality you’re trapped inside an endless maze of your own senses.

I’ve been having mine for years now. Ever since Darius passed, I’ve been spending my time journeying aimlessly across the universe, all on my own. He left me with a ship, Daedalus. It wasn’t a grand one, probably enough for a crew of 5 or so.

It’s my 25th day on Drearion. A day here is about 20 Gaia hours though - a reasonable length for a journey. I’ve traveled approximately 500 kilometers southwest of where I’ve landed the Daedalus.
Nighttime has fallen but I keep walking. On the horizon I see a small glow on the top of a hill. I haven’t encountered anything on Drearion that would give off a source of light. My night adventures had been accompanied by Drearion’s two luminous moons. If only I could create fire instead of ice.

I tread forward. As I get closer, I notice that it isn’t just a hill I was looking at - it’s a crater. The crater seems to have some sort of entrance in the middle.
