Tetris is a video game which allows the player to strategically rotate and move blocks of 7 different shapes, each a combination of 4 cube blocks. The aim is to make horizontal lines of blocks without any spaces to clear them. It was released in 1984 by a Russian game designer Alexey Pajitnov and is still a popular game to play today.Tetris comes from the Greek word "Tetra", which means four, and "Tennis" because Pajitnov liked tennis.
