im kind of new to using textures in photoshop, who exactly do i use these?

there's no one answer to that question. The easiest way would probably be to use them as your base, cut out your subject and put them on top. I'll be posting icons soon which will show how I've used these at [link]

setting the texture over a icon and putting the layer of the texture as uhm...overlay,screen,soft light (blending mode)...it depends on the image,sorry for the bad english
