Description
This is my set of Dragon Armor from the game RuneScape. It took about two months to buy the steel and craft it into armor. All parts are made from 22g steel, with the exception of the platebody's front and back, which are made from 16g steel. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Enjoy!
(Btw, I am aware that the right shoulder is a little low... After a small re-work, it's looking much better now.)
P.S, This armor HAS been combat tested, and performed rather well. I wore it while my friend used me as a human punching bag, and I hardly even felt the blows
Β
UPDATE:Β Also, changed the main pic to show it on the stand and with the attack skillcape.

Thanks!

It's not bad, but it's really not my best. The Torva turned out much better.

I am wondering, however, how you have the metal plates setup. Is it a slip on? or is it attached to the clothing? And if it is attached to the clothing, what did you use to hold it together?

It's built to hold itself together. Each plate it attached with a small piece of tie-down strap. You just slip it on over any long sleeve shirt and pair of old jeans, that are handy. In the spirit of RuneScape armor, the body, legs, boots, gloves, and helmet, all fit on as individual pieces.

interesting. The reason I asked is because I intend on making my own armor out of steel plates/sheets and was looking for a few pointers.

anything you can suggest really.
Β I was originally gonna attach the metal to an old pair of sweats, but if you only need to slip it on, thatd be easier

Well then, be prepared for a long answer!
First, you need to know what you are going to make! If you are basing it off of a game armor, then find a way to be able to view that armor from every angle possible, and up close helps a lot. From observing it, you can tell how it works, how it's shaped, and sometimes how it holds together.
If you want to make your own armor, you need tools. A hammer, a vice (or some other way to bend the metal very sharply), and some way to cut the metal, are the bare minimum. I use a 4 1/2 in angle grinder to cut the metal. They only cost 15.00 - 20.00 at harbor freight.
Next, you need metal. Lowes has sheet steel (2ft x 2ft). If you want to be able to take hits in this armor, go with 16 gauge. However, 16 gauge is more expensive. If you just want it to look good, then go with 22 gauge. It's easier to shape, and much lighter weight.
When you have all the information you need, get some posterboard (or any large piece of stiff paper). Use it to make some "test" pieces of armor, to be sure they will fit and work right. It will also give you an idea of how much steel you will need.
When you are ready to make it, just use the paper test pieces as templates, cut the parts out of the steel, bend them into shape using you tools, and make sure they fit together. After the parts are constructed and they all fit, attach them however seems best. I use small pieces of tie-down straps to hold them securely, but in a way that allows flexibility. Β (if you would like an example of this, I can upload a picture)
Lastly, paint it. The steel from Lowes is untreated for rust, and will promptly do just that, unless you paint it.
Β
Hope this helps, and feel free to ask more in-depth about any part of the process. This is just general information.

oh wow a nother even f ull armour? you must love to make such things the helmet seems a bit dent in here or is that just perspective?

This is actually the first armor I have ever made. It was just too fun to stop! (Besides, I wanted higher level armor.Β )
Β
You are right though, the helmet isn't exactly like the Dragon full helm.Β The jaw sticks out, rather than going down, but it is about as close as I could come on my first attempt.Β Also, the jaw is curved outwards, to make it wider at the bottom.

(It's only 22g steel btw. You can bend it with just your hands. )

Yes, it is. I custom built a stand for it so it is exactly like I was wearing it. I couldn't make arms for the stand, but it is exactly the same height as me, so it looks like it is being worn. I might have to move it from the stand though, to make room for Torva.

Thanks! Yes, I can wear it. It is fully functional armor, even though it may not be made from the strongest steel.

Lol. I guess I could... but after making this, I'm not sure I'll even sell it. It was fun to make though. Oh, I'm making the bracers, and the boots are done. By tomorrow I should have an updated pic of the full armor. Thanks for the comment!
