Originally, yes. Now that I'm looking at it again, it looks like some manner of crane-like bird with a massive tail.

This is lovely!
I adore the bold colors and brush strokes, and there's a really nice movement.
To me this looks like an explosion, because it seems like the firey shades are taking over the blue background
