What happened to the meta an it's in the show? It's been years since I've watched the cartoon.

Van Kleiss faked being crazy, joined with Bad Guy Providence who were trying to use Meta Nanites to take over the world, Van Kleiss double crossed them at the last possible second, and try to absorb said Meta Nanite into himself, but it rejected him and would only work for Rex. Rex proceeds to use Meta Nanite to cure entire world, but Van Kleiss escapes when Breach pulls him and the rest of The Pack into a portal, and thus, the inspiration for this scene here.
