Devi in her usual hunting gear (minus some of her larger weapons) holding Sonny for the first time .

There is a little story behind their meeting:
Devi is a young, small forest hunter and because of her size she could pass through the foliage and climb trees almost undetected. The small yaut'ja was exploring the forest where her mentors had brought some unblooded hunters to earn a title for themselves, when the hunters returned successful the small predator wondered off while the others prepared their trophies. It wasn't long before she came across what looked like an abandoned lab of some kind. The broken building matched the description of what she heard some of the recently blooded warriors talk about, it was empty and she could see the remains of both humans and hardmeats here and there. A quick scan with her biomask and the activation of her cloaking device, she entered.

The young Yaut'ja was cautious, the other hunters had destroyed the hive that the humans had allowed to grow deep under the labs which left the ground very unstable. There was nothing of real interest within the rubble, broken test tubes that carried the spawn of the hardmeats, useless lab equipment and blood. Devi came across a single room that seemed to be intact, upon entering a computer generated voice played the same message repeatedly,
"Subject name 50nn1 has been released." The predator tilted her head and hummed in confusion, she saw images of what seemed to be a small queen still in its chestbuster phase. She crouched to read the files that were lying on the floor and she felt pity for the poor creature, numerous tests performed daily upon the tiny hardmeat, blood transfusions, DNA splicing and fusing and other procedures she didn't understand.

She suddenly felt two small hands lightly touching her leg, Devi hadn't realised she deactivated her cloak, she shifted slightly to see a small white hardmeat looking at her curiously. It was small and white and looked like a small queen, it cooed and purred at the predator. This was the creature the files described, she heard a deep growl and turned her attention from the little queen to see Arak'na and an Elite hunter standing at the entrance. The small huntress merely picked up the files and held them up towards the larger hunters, Arak'na took the files and she and the elite read them over. The large and respected huntress tilted her head while the elite next to her did something odd, he took a few steps forward and patted Devi lightly on the shoulder and left. Arak'na merely chuckled before nodding her head at the small predator and leaving as well.

Devi then felt the small hardmeat climb into her arms, the young huntress cradled the small creature before standing up. The little white hardmeat then pointed a single digit from its small three fingered hand at the predator who carried it,
"You small," it cooed sweetly, "Sonny is small too."
