Description
The Reploid Wars spread across the globe, endangering innocent people far and wide. The Reploid menace is especially troublesome in Japan. Leading robotic scientist, Kimchi Yashimoto, has been working on a way to combat the Mavericks in his beloved homeland. Using notes he found some time ago, Yashimoto successfully creates a Reploid to hunt and eliminate the Mavericks with speed and stealth.

Shinobu has been programmed with numerous martial arts including all thirteen disciplines of Ninjitsu. The shadowy Reploid uses his vast skills to defend the 'Land of the Rising Sun' against the forces of Sigma.

Besides his name, which was originally 'Mantis', Shinobu's color was also changed to make his easier to blend into the shadows as he dispatched Mavericks without warning and disappear just the same.
