Wow... that is an incredible recreation of the pose. And Kelly herself, I might add...
And yeah, a lot of good poses seem to work well with modularity. Splits, slide along the legs, half the character at the waist. Backfolds (and triplefolds), as you've shown, right through the neck. Frontbends are tricky, but you could cleave a pretty convincing bust out of them.
