Description

The character that got me into the X-books, and stick around. Nathan was not completely there until the fusion of the New Mutants' paternalistic drill sergent and the dangling loose end that was Nathan Christopher Summers. The result ? An inspired stroke of genius;an epic saga about his deep connections to two of the core X-Men--Scott and Jean--and two of the X-Men's most polyvalent  villains--Sinister and Apocalypse-- and the importance of family concerning the 5 noted here and many others. Even if they cheated us of a proper closure...

Nathan should, by all rights, be one of the key characters of the X-men mythos.  It's sad that he mostly isn't because people are too willingly ignorant and would rather bark at him as the moronic mongrels they are. I need but 2 pages to define him 2.bp.blogspot.com/-a2mqRqS0Qy4… 2.bp.blogspot.com/-huZ8CA19_-k… and 2 tunes to draw him www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yKHYu… www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU29qo…

Sure you'll hear the same tired meme about "lolz pouches lolz guns", but when one really knows Cable, THIS is what defines him pbs.twimg.com/media/DbAcoi-X0A… (this cover is so perfect I am dying of jealousy !)

P.S. : He is the one that trolls Deadpool by the way. Not the other way around. I should know, I bothered to read the proper series...

P.P.S : I would like to thank you all for following me and bothering to read my ramblings. You have no idea how much it counts for me !

The wild man of Borneo. Still one of the most epic introductiory lines ever.

Had the whole Summers blodline and feud between Cable and Big A that was build up for most of the 90s been allowed to have a proper conclusion, what would you have liked to seen in it?

Indeed. Funny how this one character, who's derided as being edgy and violent, pulls off the ideals of the X-men much better than the bald cripple...

Oh man... While I do not have A precise idea, I'd love for it to include Exodus and Sinister (due to their pasts) and bear resemblance to something like X-men Legends II. In fact, have it happen in the middle of Cairo with DEATHS and losses and the X-men really trying to save the ship from sinking ! And an Apocalypse spreading his message that evolution is unavoidable, sending several of harbringers (like the one Cable and the Avengers fought !) to make the situation seem horrifying !

In fact, my friend Jesse Moak put it this way :

They had the seeds for what could have been an amazing story arc, called "The Twelve", in which the X-Men discover that there is an alleged prophecy, visions left behind by the deceased Destiny, claiming that a specific 12 mutants must come together to bring the ultimate downfall of Apocalypse, once and for all. And if you ask ME, the smart money would have been on having the storyline play it straight, and do just what it stated: BE the final showdown with Apocalypse.

I think they should have had this legendary "Twelve", which included the likes of Xavier, Nate Grey, Magneto, Polaris, Sunfire, Iceman, The Living Monolith, Cyclops, Phoenix, etc., and have them lead the charge in one final, desperate battle with the Big Guy. Have Apocalypse be about to achieve victory over the Earth, have him on the cusp of kicking off Cable's nightmare far future. And then have Cable and the X-Men manage to come together, and kick his ass right open, putting him down for good. Why not? Give the poor bastards a REAL, decisive victory for once. Give them something to really close out the millennium with, a feel good moment for the fanbase to enjoy, after SO much tragedy and hardship. That isn't to say more tragedy and hardship wouldn't come, but they deserved a real Win, not just continually putting out fires, at high cost.

My They should have left Joe Casey write it...

We were all victims of Liefeld's Smallfoot reign of terror. The Askani'son suffered more than most.

Dude, it was not that long and that section of New Mutants... was actually among the better ones in that damn title XD Seriously, before that, only Selene, Legion and Emma had what sould be considered good readable moments... the rest is a damn slog that reminded me how much I'd want to see Xavier and Magneto DEAD, and most of the teens won't get good till X-Force (except Cypher. That kid was cool from the start...).
To me, it's less Liefeld and more people who can't bother doing their goddamn research...
