Description

Galaxy's greatest bounty hunter ! Assassin to Royalty! Scourge of the cosmos ! The Last Czarnian ! Ultimate Bastiche ! Master Machete ! Mister FRAG ! Ex-Archbishop of the first celestial church of the triple fish God ! Space Dolphin conservationist ! At your service ! Also, I am actually fine with Emmet J Scanlan's casting. Sure Lobo's voice even in the comics to me is more akin to Brad Garrett's BUT 'Bo McBastiche has a nice ring to it !

I heard there may be a Lobo movie in development with Michael Bay, of all people, at the helm. Dunno about that, sounds promising.

I hears about that, but I'd honestly go for this A L.E.G.I.O.N. Of R.E.B.E.L.S.
rather than a solo Lobo movie. 'Bo is a great character, but he's at his best as an unwilling member of L.E.G.I.O.N (one of the reasons I love the Suicide Squad movie is because it has that nasty quirky quality to it and it is very similar to L.E.G.I.O.N's atmosphere and dynamics !) or as an occasional Superman villain !

I could see a movie like that. Lobo's looking for breathing space from all that bounty huntering so he picks up this offer about "sun, sea and relaxation" only it turns out it was some ploy to get hapless schmucks to join this suicide mission to kill some big dictator or something. He hooks up with these Legion guys who are down on their luck for some quick dosh. You can even do his back story by having Lobo present it through a finger puppet theater or something. At one point he gets rescued by space dolphins, hence his desire to help with their conservation. It would be an over-the-top action movie with the signature style of Michael Bay. It would be a good way to introduce a whole new cast of characters to the DCEU or whatever it's called. Being a good idea means Warner would probably never do it.

Funny thing is, Lobo has been in Live-action thrice now (2 fan-films and the Krypton TV show) and he WORKS ! I really recommend all 3 of those ! People bitch about Emmet Scanlan recently but they've never actually read stuff about the Main Man... or they'd see him as a good portrayal of his early L.E.G.I.O.N days.
The finger puppets idea would totally rule ! XD
I don't know if Michael Bay would be the right choice, we need over-the-top AND a nasty sense of humor... kind of à la Joe Dante (though I am open to any suggestion XD )
The other important element is Vril Dox ! we need the proper mix of coolness and machiavelism. He's basically Albert Wesker with a justice-driven goal and his interactions with Lobo are fantastic XD

Just saw those Lobo fan films. Awesome stuff, they should track down the actor from the Santa Clause one and hire him.
Hmmm, directors for a Lobo/L.E.G.I.O.N movie? I nominate:
-Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, makers of the Crank movies, they've done an awesome job combining over the top action and outrageous humor.
-Sam Raimi, he's proven himself to be able to handle both action-comedy ultra violence and big budget super-hero cinema.
-Edgar Wright, creator of the hilarious Cornetto trilogy and nearly braking into the big league before he got shafted by Marvel, the guy can definitely handle, action, buddy-comedy and gore.
-Michael Dougherty, the man behind two awesome horror movies, Trick'r'Treat and Krampus whose recently had a foray into big budget movie making.
-Robert Rodriguez, having done both horror and action with a good serving of humor along with his ability to handle more abitious projects like Predators and Alita I think he's a pretty good pick.
-Peter Jackson, master of the splatter horror-comedy, he proved his ability to handle huge productions thanks to his Middle-Earth movies. He fills his movies with hemoglobin, humor and heart.
-Matthew Vaughn, he can handle both violence and comedy very well in his Kick-Ass and and Kingsman series.
-Gareth Evans, he has directed some of the best action movies in recent memory with the two Raid movies, I think it's time for him to debut on the big guy scene.
-James Gunn, he started out by making weird and violent horror- comedies before hitting it big time with Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
-Michael Bay, I still think Bay can pull it off, provided he gets some actually good writers. He is probably one of the best visual directors out there, though because he never writes anything he ever directs he almost always gets stuck with some half brained writers. Whenever this guy gets his hands on a good script, he can work wonders.

These are my possible candidates.

As for the movie, maybe something like a sci-fi buddy comedy, Lethal Weapon/Men in Black in space. The team up of the century between the machiavelian, brilliant and neurotic Vril Dox and the relentless, devil may care bounty hunter Lobo. One wants to form the greatest police force in the galaxy the other just wants to drink his brains away. How will our unlikely heroes defeat the villain and form unlikely, and miserable, friendships as they try to reach their goal through space, time and mountains of gore. Watch the new cinematic sensation slice through the box-office competition before Warner Bros. slices it on the cutting room floor.

- Funny thing about Crank, they feel closer to a Deadpool adaptation in tone and essence than what we got ! The protagonist is NOT a nice guy and by the end of the second movie he even ends up looking as grotesque as the Merc in the old funny books XD
- Maybe the Old Raimi , the new one... I dunno...
- Wright is a good choice indeed. Shaun of the dead was a tear jerker for me (the few unexpected sad scenes really hit home !) and Hot Fuzz was a BLAST !
- Oh yeah ! I tip my hat to what Dougherty did with Godzilla. Instead of the pretentious tripe of the 2014 movie , he just delivered the fucking GOODS without pretention whatsoever ! King Ghidorah is EXACTLY what a monster must be, stealing every fucking scene he's in and embracing the outlandishness of such a creature instead of mocking it  ! Godzilla felt thankfully less tame, more of a gun to be directed at the right target. Rodan was a fantastic surprise and gave in 2 minutes of screen time what the whole 2014 Godzilla or the shitty Shin Godzilla could NOT give ! and Mothra is up there with 98 Zilla in terms of cuteness (I do happen to find moths and iguanas adorable...). I will have to talk about it in more details...
-  Rodriguez is another good pick ! I hope we get the 3rd sin city movie, cus Hell and Back is one huge trip of a story! For all the talk about how dark and gritty it is, I find Sin City pretty optimistic overall...
- As long as Jackson does not make it 3 hours long XD I mean for King Kong , only the 2nd hour (on the island) was worth anything...
- Gunn's GOTG did not do it for me.... but who knows, maybe L.E.G.I.O.N. is a better fit for him...

Yeah, that's d be a fitting direction. As long as they keep Vril as a jerk  2.bp.blogspot.com/-uu2q69yCy4Y…
It also helps that that series has the best version of Starfire hands down  2.bp.blogspot.com/-J7gziotLKxg…

I would love to se a review and some drawings of the Kaiju crew! KOTM was a ton of fun, (I am looking forward to the epic return of Kevin XD).
Lobo is a fun guy, I have to say I really like him in his Brad Garrett version.
Also loved how in his death battle they called out new 52 Lobo, have to appreciate when even the DC themself literally shelfed that version and gave us the good old Bastiche back.
Also if you are intersted in a fun read, check out Darren Shan`s Demonata series. One of the most fun series about demons I have read

It is done, my friend, I finally drew Ghidorah and posted my review... I need to draw more critters...

All the actors that played have done a great job ! Hell, recently, Emmet J. Scanlan is playing him in Krypton and he's NAILING IT ! Lobo is both funny and threatening as he should be  www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaFPtA…

THat version could have worked IF a) They did NOT treat the 90s one like shit b) put him in an elseworlds/Omega Men c) make his markings black d) NOT make him a "tragic character"...

I will eventually give it a try...

Honestly, it seems promising. I mean look at their Brainiac and Doomsday, it's already a step in the right direction. People whine that Lobo is not that tall, BUT seriously, you can speculate Bo is still young... I dig the Irish accent though I never expected it XD
