The Crunchy-Samsung frenemies doodle is brilliant on its own. I just like that even if it's a doodle, Quan Chi's tats are spot on. The others are lovely icing on the cake. Shinnok flipping out Blunder God with the giant bones is <3

The lack of Motaro fanart was a crime so I decided to remedy to that. And due to how many times he wins when he's fought, might as well base him on Charlie Sheen.
As for Raiden, it stems from my dislike of the NRS version. In fact, it was a great move to reimagine Raiden back in the first movie thanks to Christopher Lambert and Jeff Meek in Conquest. They should have gone with THAT Raiden instead ! Plus that's pretty much what should have happened when he had Liu Kang killed over his own mistakes... "I'll go to Quan Chi and make an alliance with the Netherrealm !" Suuure, dude. An alliance with the prophet of the Elder God that hates your guts, what can possibly go wrong.
Now Shinnok... this is interesting because MKX seems to take a cue from his very first appearance www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cuorp⦠; rather than MK4 which is definitely for the best.
Shao Kahn ... funny trivia : the Conquest version is actually the closest to how John Tobias envisionned Shao's personality. I checked the older comics and for a ruthless guy, he actually is pretty chill. In the MK II intro comic, he was more annoyed at Tsung's failure than enraged (unlike King Gorbak who was literally beggng for Shang's execution...) and interestingly enough he did love Kitana as a daughter in his own way. In Tobias' vision , Shao Kahn trusts Mileena but he never saw her as a person (making her hatred of Kitana understandable. Also, original Mileena is like a waaay calmer MKX Mileena) but he wants Kitana as a daughter (and Sindel as a wife but he kinda missed the boat on that...). Oh, and in those comics he only wears his helmet at work, so most of the time we see his full face.
As for the Β Tsungster Β and Quanny, of course I mostly took cues from the movie and Conquest to draw them . Had I more I'd have added Atheist Liu Kang and Siro !

Haha, poor Motaro. He's perhaps the biggest loser in MK's history. The Midway/NRS team always manages to humiliate him out of laziness or inconvenience. I don't know what was worse: him getting killed in a video sequence in MK9's Story Mode or being turned into a minotaur-like creature for MKA..... all because a quadruped wouldn't have been easy to implement in the games, even as an unplayable. Poor horsey
I know what you mean. IMO Raiden turning to Quan Chi near the end of MK9's Story Mode was the lowest point for the character. He's still a big favorite of mine despite the fact that I disagreed with many things he's done (or not done) during MK9's events. Thankfully they remedied him for MKX....except for that bitter, bitter after credits scene. Shit is about the hit the fan in Earthrealm, no doubt!

MKC Shao Kahn was actually very well characterized (Why that show is so underrated, it's beyond me! Several hardcore MK fans haven't even seen it!) You know, I probably have those comic scans on my harddrive but I've never read them. I really should look into them, at the very least into the ones where John Tobias' work is involved.

At least, as a minotaur there is a story to tell. Granted I prefer him as a centaur but that would cancel some of his abilities. And yes they should make him an unplayable and I do hope he'll meet up against Sheeva in the current comic ! Plus as shitty Annihilation was, I do love Motaro's voice in it. Though, shouldn't Quan Chi jump on the occasion of having a revenant Centaur in his team ? Cus that'd be baller !
Well Movie Liu Kang is an Atheist...and exactly what MK9 should have gone with. And yeah, Kung Lao was pretty cool in the show (it's what we should have had if they adapted MK II properly as a movie !). Siro ? The GREATEST MORTAL KOMBAT CHARACTER ! (As Phelous said ). Yeah, Siro's a riot ! Though it's funny how he defeated Noob Saibot...who happens to be made of oil !

He was, in a way. Tremor debuted in the godawful Special Forces game which came out in 2000. He was an enemy character, a simple brown ninja who had some of Jax's moves. And since he was a ninja, he started a fixation among several MK fans. In the PS Vita version of MK 2011 he appeared as playable for one mission in the Challenge Tower.....where he was a simple palette-swapped brown ninja with some of Jax's moves
Just imagine the following: Quan and his revenants riding those hell steeds like in that Story Mode scene, and one of the hell steeds is actually Motaro That'd be FUN
Technically, a Sheeva vs Motaro altercation would be possible in the comic but only if it happened in a flashback. The two have great chemistry, don't they?
Movie Liu Kang is the BEST Liu Kang, no question! I dislike him in the games but I really like him in the movie! If only he was 1% that badass in the games as well. I tend to like villains much more easily than heroes. A heroic character has to have a decent actor to portray them or else I won't be impressed. They just come off as bland (when talking about video games).
At least Siro got to do something and he wasn't jobbing as awfully as Taja. Poor girl always managed to get her ass kicked. She wasn't an actual damsel in distress but she almost always got knocked out very early in a fight, even when she went up against nobodies. A pity...
Meat doesn't even have an actual story. He was an experiment who escaped Shang's Flesh Pits before he could be completed. Ugh.....He's the second most hated MK character ever, after Mokap. I myself hate them equally Β

Well Kotal and his crew are pretty cool, The younger teen are fine though redundant compared to the rest of the roster. I LOVE what they did with Mileena , showcasing her as a true warrior on her own right and what need I to add about Quan Chi and Shinnok ?
