Description
And the most important lesson from that story is: SHINRA really needs some fucking psychiatrists in their payroll. This is their best living weapon and they do jack when he goes Don Quijote after reading a whole library ? Even hybrid-sins against nature deserve a better treatment and medical insurance ! Hell, if he had a bakery to manage in his free time in some village, then he'd be mentally stable... he'll still look like a fucking serial killer though. He always did...
And before you smartasses starts, YES, I know the ones that are met prior the final fight are JENOVA parts he's been driving from a distance... it's like using drones so, no, he's the culprit. Even if he's far from the cruelest, guiltiest part in that story...
Finally, I shall make all FF fans hate me; I actually like Last Order and Advent Children. InΒ fact the former is how these games should be adapted.
And Kingdom Hearts should have Donald or Mickey as main characters and have them trounce their way through FF bosses (Goofy being obviously a game breaker !). I don't care what anyone says, I KNOW I'm right !

It's HOJO, not Hojo. You gotta say it like Vincent Valentine says it in Final Fantasy VII Machinabridged.

Nothing's wrong with liking Advent Children. It gave us the best version of the One-Winged Angel theme and my preferred look for Cloud Strife whenever I play as him in Super Smash Bros.
I should probably try to get my hands on that movie.

Well, it's a good thing I recently bought Final Fantasy VII for my Nintendo Switch due to how much fun I have playing as Cloud in Super Smash Bros.

Well, Final Fantasy VII is on the Nintendo Switch, so you can get it for that if you have a Switch.

While Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy IX are both beloved entries in the series, I honestly can't tell you which is better because I haven't played a single Final Fantasy game. I'd just get both of them if I were you. As for me, I'm planning on getting Final Fantasy VII once I have a Switch because of how much I enjoy playing as Cloud in Super Smash Bros.
On an unrelated note, do you remember how I told you that Universe 10 Sonic has dream adventures as my explanation for the reference he made to Sonic 06 in The Fastest Hero Alive? Well, I've made some changes to the Avengers-Verse (the shared setting of my fanfics) regarding Sonic, so that's no longer the reason behind that reference. See, in the context of the Avengers-Verse, Sonic is the fourth individual in existence to inherit the title and power of the Chrono Trigger after Crono, Serge, and the Chrono Reflect version of Rarity, and his callsign (for lack of a better word) is "The Light of the Avengers". Now, what makes Sonic different from his predecessors is that there are multiple versions of him that exist in the Avengers-Verse (prior to the Genesis Arc of New Super Smash Bros. Crossover, at which point there is only one composite version of every hero and villain with their histories combining those of their previous incarnations into one) who are all ultimately the same Sonic, meaning that they have a shared consciousness. This is the new explanation for Universe 10 Sonic's reference to Sonic 06 in The Fastest Hero Alive...as he was unknowingly recalling the events of Sonic 06 as his Universe 7 incarnation experienced them (where it was more or less the same as the canon version). If this sounds confusing to you, I'll make it more clear when I (eventually) put up Darkstar Rising, as Universe 10 Sonic once again references Sonic 06 in that episode...except that he's unknowingly recalling the events of Sonic 06 as his Universe 12 incarnation experienced them.

Oh, my Avengers-Verse is incredibly ambitious. I still need to get off my lazy bum and continue writing it, but the Avengers-Verse is a very ambitious story that serves as both a love letter to the various franchises involved and my way of redeeming certain characters (namely Sonic and Carol Danvers) who have either been reduced to a joke or have become incredibly controversial due to poor writing.

I though Sonic was a big name again since his Mania game

EternalCyclops In reply to Ruyc [2019-06-15 19:55:01 +0000 UTC]
Sonic never stopped being a big name, but ever since 2010 he and his supporting cast have suffered from poor writing that reduces them to unfunny jokes at best and an insult to how they were generally depicted from Sonic Adventure to Sonic & the Black Knight. It says a lot when Dr. Eggman, the main villain of the Sonic franchise, is the only character whose current portrayal in the games does him justice.
Not helping is that the games themselves have become incredibly lackluster in terms of gameplay and story, with Sonic Generations and Sonic Mania being the only post-2010 Sonic games to be just as good as the likes of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Adventure 2 (the five Sonic games I consider to be the best ones in the series) despite their reliance on nostalgia.
Needless to say, it's for this reason that one of my goals for the Avengers-Verse is to redeem Sonic by writing him in a way that reminds everyone why he was a genuinely beloved character before being turned into a joke by SEGA.

what do you think of Sonic CD? I'm playing that game on steam
I was saying cause Sonic Mania had an acclaim that I don't remember in a Sonic game since...the genesis days and is also so far my favorite from 2017 (Yes, even better that Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild)
okay

EternalCyclops In reply to Ruyc [2019-06-17 18:42:49 +0000 UTC]
I sadly haven't played Sonic CD since I don't own the Sonic Gems Collection for Gamecube or a PS3/Xbox 360. It's why I've opted for the Super Peel Out over the Drop Dash for my Sonic playthrough of Sonic Mania Plus.
As for Sonic Mania's critical acclaim, it has the highest score on Metacritic of any Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2 (which had a score of 89), with the Switch version in particular having a score of 92. Given how Sonic Mania is a game created by fans who understand what made 2D Sonic so great, I'd say it deserves all the praise it gets...even if my opinions on Sonic are contrary to everyone else's opinions. On a side note, I also haven't played Breath of the Wild yet (below are the Switch games I do own). I'm honestly more excited for the remake of Link's Awakening than Breath of the Wild, although that might be because it and the original Legend of Zelda are the only Zelda games I've played.

Here's my thoughts on Sephiroth's Kingdom Hearts expies;
Ansem, Seeker of Darkness: He's alright, but he's sadly overshadowed by his Nobody counterpart and Master Xehanort
Master Xehanort: A great villain who I feel no sympathy towards after everything he did in Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance, no matter how badly Kingdom Hearts III tries to convince me that Xehanort was a genuine Well-Intentioned Extremist.
Xemnas: One of my favorite Organization XIII members along with Roxas, Xion, Axel, Larxene, and Marluxia, and he is easily my favorite incarnation of Xehanort.

I think the original plan was to have Mickey as KH's main character, but the Square Enix guys wanted some representation since all worlds visited were mostly Disney.

Yeah from what I hear it was either he or Donald (either option would have been great !), but Nomura wanted to insert his OC Doughnut Steel in the game so there we go...

Unpopular opinion: I like Sora. Given the fact I was young when I played the first game, he was my inner-child.
I do agree that the games have a LOT of glaring issues, but it has me hooked with a guilty pleasure.
Everything I saw in the first and second main games made little me reawaken inside me and have a blast.
Then again, I am not a good writer or a proper critic, so what do I know?

devilkais In reply to pasosDshinigami [2019-01-18 18:39:16 +0000 UTC]
I don't hate the kid, it's just the whole thing getting stale in the second game that bothered me. That and, I felt Square was kinda embarassed to have "childish" Disney characters (despite their history in print and screen showcasing the opposite...) hanging out with FF characters ... guess that's why we don't see other FF bosses than Sephiroth (even if they're really ain't different from Disney villains XD )

Hell, I'd have been happy facing Bahamut or any of the epic summons.
