It's a damn shame Metroid still does not have an animated adaptation. The manga (which is the base for MY Ridley, as it is easily his best characterization) covers the first section very effectively. I love how the concept "Space pterodactyl dragon pirate" sounds goofy at first, but then the execution is badass as hell !
The franchise has enough elements to use and explore as well a good range of monstrosities and Samus herself (as written in the manga) is a damn good protagonist.
And before you ask, YES, Ridley should talk. What voice ? How about one that comes from creatures that physically and psychologically resemble him ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH9MP9β¦ (seriously, fuck Netflixvania, THIS is the kind of show I wanna see more of from Netflix !).
One last thing; as utterly crummy and insulting to Samus and the chozosΒ the Other M storyline was, I do like the fluffy baby Ridley and the idea that the real deal had a similar life cycle. The middle form ? Yeah, that was half-assed...

Who you calling cute? Samus is a sexy and beautiful woman...unless you're referring to when she was a child, in which case she was indeed cute. Unfortunately, Ridley has no tolerance for cuteness, especially when said cuteness embarrasses him by extending her hand in friendship to someone who is obviously evil like him, with his usual response being to make said cuteness an orphan.
Yeah, spiteful is definitely the word I'd use to describe Ridley.
