Dave, your work on BEN 10 was nothing short of brilliant. Fresh original ideas that worked so well, true genius. I've been into animation for over 35 years and thought I'd seen it all, your character/creature designs were incredible and so kid friendly too. The show is now a pale imitation of what it once was, since your designs were replaced. I'm a big fan of your work, thanks!

I never watched Ben 10 but I bought a little HeatBlast figure a couple years ago just because I thought the design was so awesome. There's something really cool about randomly stumbling upon his creator's page on deviant art. I'm having a great time going through your gallery

Heatblast's design is one of my favorites and all of the initial alien designs you did are miles above any of the ones in the follow up series. Sorry things didnt work out, as i would have loved to see more of your work on the series. Are you working on any other series currently or planned? What did you think of them going back to your initial designs from the first series for the latest movie(Destroy All Aliens) as opposed to the (crappy...did i say that?!) follow up series?! Do you see it as a testament to your greatness...cuz i do!

I must say that this is one of my favorites. Overall, it seems relatively straightforward and simplistic compared to some of the other aliens, but it's difficult to get colors and parts to match together in a way that is satisfying. This HeatBlast design was a good call.

Mr Johnson. Sorry to bug you, but I'm curious about a few things...
Did you do any work on that new show "Generator Rex"?
When you worked on the show, was it a full-time job and you couldn't work on comics? Or, do you only have to work until the character designs are approved?
Can we see some of the designs that were not approved?! That would be really interesting.
Also, just wanted to say that "Red Son" is one of the greatest books ever!
