Not my best unfortunately, still I like it for what it is. I was aiming for a "light at the end of the tunnel feel" with the sunlight flooding in and slightly lighting up his features.
I know that the blood and scratches could be done better; these were an afterthought when the canvas had already been resized, thus they look a little too sharp and shoddy.
I'm only accepting constructive crits on this piece of artwork; nit-picky comments will be ignored, if you have the time to write something nasty you have the time to write something good/helpful to change it to make it better.

I like the composition and the light, and overall it's a stunning pic. Nice work with it's eye, it really stands out.
I agree about the blood, I'd have liked to see it darker. Also, I think there is something slightly off with the perspective of the horse. At the angle it is viewed, the hind hooves can't be on the same line as the front ones in the shade that the tree casts...they should be visible. Doesn't show well in the reference pic because of the grass. It doesn't distract from the overall effect, though.

Obviously the blood was last minute--I'd like to see it darker but I would not press the issue at all. This is really stunning...you can feel the intention behind it.

I find the concept interesting, and the picture itself has a lot of depth and dimension to it. You always seem to pull of that look that makes you photomanipulations look a lot like paintings, something that I find really beautiful

I usuall don't comment pictures, but I must say, the expression on this horse'acis PERFECT. Wonderful. Amazing. Sometimes I think people totally mess up the picture because the horse's expression, but you ROCKED this one!

I think this is beautiful.
However, I would prefer it without the wounds and the blood. Why? Because I'm not really a fan of cut-up horses in the first place, but to me I can tell it was an afterthought and I don't think it really adds anything to the image nor the atmosphere that you have already created
Just personal opinion though, I'm sure there will be others who do like the wounds. Lovely piece!

It looks incredible with and without the blood.(I might even like with more!) You've captured Wind in his element, like I said. I've got to say, the sheer rawness of this piece drew me back to him. I've gotten two or three new posts with him in *good 1000+ ones* since I first saw it. ^^ Excellent work.

Ah, whatever you're complaining about, the blood looks fine. It's a little bright, but we don't need to go for realism all the time. Currently, it looks great and has a contrasting effect against the dark, earthy tones of the horse. That eye looks gorgeous--like polished glass. Just like the blood, the sharp highlight on that one tree adds so much depth to the image with a sort of chiaroscuro effect that's very Rembrandt. In fact, the entire image reminds me of a Rembrandt painting. That being said, over all, the image is gorgeous, and there are so many little details I want to rant and rave over, but I really must go study for final exams. As far as I can see, there's nothing worth critiquing you over as I would have to sit and stare for another half hour to come up with anything substantial.
Definitely my favourite of your recent pieces.

I really hope I don't sound nit-picky or anything, but on the top of the right foreleg it looks like maybe you cut the background a little too far in. If that's a highlight or something, that's fine, but it does look like a slight cutting error. Maybe you could clone it out or smudge over it slightly?

Thats not picky at all and I knew someone would notice it eventually; it's actually the tree in the background with some folilage and the leg just so happens to be the same colour as the tree; unfortunately.. I can show you the original sized version or zoom in on the image more and you can see a faint line of the leg against that of the tree.

Wow, I love it. The blood looks very realistic, and the steam coming out of his nose is super! I also love his expression, these light blue/silver eyes looking so worried... Your artwork is always so touching, so realistic and breath taking!
