This is our Sailor Starlights group from Sydney Supanova 2010. We won Best Skit for the Saturday Competition

how did you guys do this! I've been wanting to cosplay the starlights for a while now.

A lot of hard work and pin pricked fingers!! We basically just played around with bits and pieces of fabric and paper until we had a general idea of what we wanted then hacked into the Black PVC stretch fabric. There was a lot of swearing involved as well if I remember correctly.

Buy what? LOL We made the entire costume from scratch and I'm not sure where the PVC/Lycra stuff was found other than online somewhere.

I love that you guys had to work the patterns out yourselves - they turned out amazingly!
What type of fabric did you use? I'm not planning to do these costumes (at least for a long time haha) but the fabric you used intrigues me lol

I'm actually not sure where the fabric was found, but we used a Black PVC type thing with a slight stretch. One of the other girls found it online. Sorry I can't be more help.

ho my god i saw the video please you have to tell me what patten you used to make you starlight cosplay costume because I'm also doing a sailor starlight skit and i cant find a patten

We made the patterns ourselves by playing around with bits of fabrics to see what worked. The boot covers and sailor collars were tutorials you can find with google search

how did you do the patten with the short shorts and what king of shorts did you ues couse that what i having Trouble with

we made the short shorts by tracing around the outline of a pair of bike pants (kinda making a pants pattern) and altering it for the shape. We used the shortest pair of lycra shorts we could find for this.

What kind of Sailor Scouts are you guys? I've never seen these costume before, at least not in my childhood days. They look more 'revealing', what happened to the super Japanese schoolgirl style, and where's the skirts?
