This was my first painting with my gouache paints, jsut wanted to try something simple and this was the first thng to come to mind... though it is actually nothing like what I'd first invisioned.Gouache paints

don't we all.... dark is surprisingly difficult to achieve though, or so I'm finding.

very simple yet meaningful, can be interpreted in multiple ways, and yet so far from what the artist usually intends...i dont like the stars, they are better off gone in my humble opinion, it would give the lonely looking heart more emphasis.

yeah i'm not sure why i added the stars, they weren't part of my original plan for the image... i justfelt the surroundings of the heart and swirly thing looked... empty...and it was just a first try at something new with a simple idea(one i tend to draw to often i nmy sketches and such actually... i need moreoriginal ideas...) but yeah, you're right, the stars are a mistake... but oh well, i think I may be slowly improving with my 'space filling' and such in my paintings.. deciding what should be left empty or not... but then again, you may have hated it without the stars... we'll never know though coz i added them i nthe end anyways

true, and empty space does cause a problem...and what to fill it with to add on to the focus point is even harder...i personaly would have done something with the color to emphasis the focus point...but u migt have been right

ahh well i tohught for my first watercolour, why not blend, when thats the whole watercolour concept.... and so i thought why not black and white? though the white turned out kinda gray.... but thats my own fault for being impatient
