*Edit2* Tied for third place, thanks to all who voted for me. Edit2**EDIT* Raven said the pixel size wasn't right so I trimmed it down. Plus reminded me that TLK male lions have whiskers so I added those as well. Thanks again hun

I've been really wanting to enter one of her contests for a while now. But thanks to school never had the time or inspiration to do so. However, with school out for the summer, I finally was able to sit down and finish and entry beyond the sketch format.
I think I may have gone a tad over board with this piece. However, it turned out wonderful and I'm really proud of the result. Not only that but I experimeted around a lot and so much fun. Heck, this might be my best Photoshop work thus far (just wait, tomorrow I find ten things wrong with it).
Anyway, about the piece. Really tried to do a blend of the style seen in the comic with my own artistic flare. I used like twenty references as a result (that not really an exaggeration by the way), most of them from Raven's gallery. The biggest problem I had was getting Dumaka's colors: there was no character sheet for him so I had to guess. Oh well, live and learn.

Idk about that haha you got all the characters in the story, with out making it clostrfobic, the style is great, great choice of colors. Just an amazing job

Sorry to bother you again, but to add to my last comment... After looking at TLK screenshots, I think I see what they did. It looks as if they actually used a dull color from the lions' eyeshades for the whiskers; you can particularly see this here, in this screenshot of Scar and Mufasa: [link] So... Maybe try that? lol Or not, of course, it's up to you. This is your art, and it looks beautiful regardless, but I'm just trying to help it look even better.

You have point but when Raven uses whiskers, they're usually in black. So I went with that. However, I'll keep this in mind when doing Lion King characters (currently working on a comic). Thanks again.

Yeah, very true, but for some reason, they really seem to stick out a lot on Mohatu here, more than they do when Raven does them... I'm not really sure why.

Hmm... You know, though (and once again, I apologize for being so nit-picky; I feel like I'm annoying you), now that I've already suggested adding the whiskers, and you added them... It's not that they look bad, it's just, well... Is it just me, or do they stick out too much? On Mohatu, especially. Not so much on Ahadi, as his mane is black, and therefore, fits pretty well with the black whiskers, but Mohatu... Maybe try using a lighter color, or making them look a bit more translucent? Maybe a light brown color closer to the shade of Mohatu's mane? That way, I think the whiskers would match better, and look more natural, as they wouldn't stick out too much. It's difficult to explain, but here's a screenshot of Mufasa so you can see what I mean: [link]
