Description
*Updated version here fav.me/d642exdAlright my first lightsaber tutorial. There are different ways to do the lightsaber and here is my version.
1. Open photo then click layer>new>layer then fill the layer with black using the paint bucket and after that select mode to screen and click the little box on the bottom.
2. I used the pen tool to design the lightsaber then right click mouse and select fill tool and make sure select foreground color which should be white.
3. Filter>blur>Gaussian blur and set the level to 1.
4. Go and duplicate the layer three times with layer>duplicate layer.
5. Now set the Gaussian blur and the top layer to 10 next one down 20 and next is 40.(note you can change the numbers to what you like.)
6. Merge the lightsaber layers only is click>hold and drag over the lightsaber layers and let the mouse go and hit Ctrl+E.
7. This is the last part and the fun part the color there are two ways to do it first is color balance. Image>Adjustments>color balance(Ctrl+B) and do whatever you want with is but not too much. But I use Hue/Stauration or Ctrl+U that is under Image>Adjustments but after its opened click colorize and do whatever you want with it. Also merge the layer to the background layer and your done.
This tutorial is for Photoshop 7 and up. note this is for expeirment so have some fun with this tutorial my young jedi knights and

you know what really great about this shot iss the blue glow from a television or monitor that almost gives the impression of glow from the sword on Him. Very cool.

I actually learned from what they did for Photoshop 7 years ago and I've improved it or updated it in from the original tutorial you used color balance but in the updated version I used Hue/Stauration it was easy and looked cool.
