1. About the 'cylinder';I got a piece of card, and sorta 'rolled' it around the Pepsi lid. The rubber bands in the photo's were to keep it in place as the glue dried, and I used a few layers of very thin card (it's flexible so it's easier to make cylinders with it) so that it was really strong.
Something else you could use for the cylinder - the card tube you get on the inside of wrapping paper, just cut maybe 5cm or so. Cut a circle from a piece of card that's the same size as the hole of the tube, super-glue the bottle-lid to it, then tape this to the cylinder. Simpler and easier than what I did!
The reason why I made this is because I wanted to seperate the 'head' of the wand so I didn't have to make two seperate sticks for each wand.
The cylinder was to hide the lid and to make it look neater. It also gives a little extra support, because Pepsi lids are quite small and without the long cylinder, the clow/star head of the wand could just break off.

I was orignally gonna shape the bird head like you did, and ended up not = ( I kind of regret it. I haven't attatched it yet though, so I may end up changing it... dunno.

I had so much fun making this wand. It's something I've wanted since I was a little girl, but I really didn't know how to start when it came to making it! Thanks for making my dream come true!

I've been baffled as to how to tackle the wand for ages. A friend of mine and I pooled our efforts, but it really failed. So you've been an invaluble help, really!

How much did it approximately cost to make either the bird head wand or the star wand?

Very cheap, I mostly recycled things like the free newspaper I get delivered to my house every week, and I bought very cheap ringbinders, about 50p - £1 each.
The paints were the expensive things, but you could probably find cheap paints too. I would say the wands cost me a maximum of £50 including the PVA glue, the paints and the materials. You have to be patient if you use this method, though, as it can get tedious.

Thanks!
I drew the myself, which took ages because it's really hard to draw a perfect star.

Hopefully better than mine, there's alot of stuff I don't like about it - like the hoop of the Star wand isn't the exact right shape, and the wings are a little wobbly I'm scared they'll fall off!
I look forward to seeing yours when you do have the time to make one!

I might have moved to another country by then, but if I'm still here I will go as Mikuru. My sister, who is staying in London, will deffinately be going, but I don't know who she's going as... I think she wants to be England from Axis Powers Hetalia, she mentioned something about making his cosplay for Expo the other day.

Bulgaria with my family. It's a massive house with I think seven bedrooms!
The only thing is that my daughter's dad doesn't want me leaving the country so I have to wait until some court stuff is over before I know if I can go or not.

Wow, so it's gonna get pretty busy for you over the next few months. I've never been to Bulgaria. Is it nice there? Plus i'd love a house with 7 rooms >_< I'd have a room dedicated to anime/manga and cosplay XD

Devious-Bunny In reply to Trunksgal [2010-03-05 01:59:57 +0000 UTC]
Well, the court thing has been delayed alot, but hopefully this time is the last, it's at the end of April. I really hope I don't have to wait any longer, I miss my brother and sisters, I haven't seen them since June! I need my sisters to cosplay and learn dances like 'Hare Hare Yukai' with
I don't know what it's like, I haven't been allowed to see it yet >_<
I've seen photo's though, and the house is massive, and I think it's on a hill XD
My family who live there say it's so beautiful, and they have manga and anime over there! My mum found a magazine that had a 'Full Metal Alchemist' DVD with it, with four episodes on it.
They have cosplayers, but it's not as popular as over here.
Also, the food and the clothes are REALLY cheap! I think you can get a decent pair of jeans for about £4!
When my parents come to see me, they keep telling me how expensive it is to live here.
