There's no "Geass contacts". Geass is a natural ability and the contacts were used to control it.

Lelouch originally got Geass from C.C. It allows him to give any person an order that person can't defy. However, he can only give one order. It was as simple as that, until Lelouch lost control of his Geass and no longer could look at people directly and simply tell them to do something without immediately using Geass. In the beginning of the second season, he got contacts that block Geass and prevent him from using it. Now, whenever he uses Geass, he first takes the contacts off.
