I don't know who was the first to put the coin in the bark of the tree...but I'm just guessing it was a late night, two pals coming home from the pub [ok,that's Irish, so?] stopping near a tree to take a leak... "My wife is gonna go mad again...start yapping about me drinking all the money! bla bla bla...money doesn't grow on trees ...bla bla" "How does she know?" "I think the smell of whiskey might tip her off..." "No, about money growing on trees. {reaches in his pocket, takes out a coin and shuves it into a crack in the bark} See?" "That's a good one..." {and also places his last pennies in the bark}...

Or it could be just my hyperactive imagination at work here. But hey, at least I have a story!

Wow that's insane and cool! Great way to display the various shots, it looks like scales.
I have never seen a tree like this but I've seen one where shoes were nailed to it. The entire thing was covered!
