How's Canon EF-S 60mm Macro lens?? I have been looking around for lens but i like to know more about them before i choose between the 50mm and 60mm...any significant differences besides the price and having 10mm difference??
Are you about 4 to 5 inches away from the insect?

The difference between these 2 lenses is the zoom factor. With the 60mm, you can have 1:1, but with the 50mm, only 1:2 rapport.
For me, to make macro shots, 1:2 is really not enough.
The 60mm is excellent, i recommande it for you

La hauteur est la même, j'ai juste passé au format carré... ces objectif 1:1 sont vraiment fabuleux

J'ai plus qu'à tester avec mon 150

Ben ouais, les objos 1:1 permettent ça... un peu de maths: le capteur du 400D fait 14.8 x 22.2 mm donc un moustique de 5mm de haut, au facteur max d'agrandissement (1:1) fera 1/3 de la hauteur de l'image... j'y suis encore loin

ps : pour ton calcul.. ça ne marche que si tu es à la distance mini de MaP

... ça doit par contre pas être facile à utiliser, je pense que le trepied est indispensable avec une focale pareille
PS: Tout à fait d'accord, on est sur la même longueur d'onde... tout ça pour te dire que j'aurais encore pu m'avancer d'avantage
