Because this pokemon is heavily inspired from Plusle and Minun, did you know that Plusle and Minun are based on the positive and negative energy found in atoms, hence the reason why they are electric type. If there was gonna be a third it would be based on neurons found in atoms.

Actually when I was coming up with a name I was thinking of Neutrale, but it just didn't sound right to me. Since equal is synonymous with neutral as they bothΒ reference something being balanced outΒ I figured I would go with that and call her Equale.

Well that's understandable. It's just some people have no fucking clue what positive and negative enegry is and just assume that plusle and minun are based on math symbols.

Well as you know the Pokemon franchise is aimed towards children. So it would be natural for them to think Plusle and Minun would reference plus and minus, so a name similar to equal would sound ideal for just that.
