Description
Zelda paced around her newfound quarters, unaware of the blond colt that had mysteriously walked through the back entrance to the spacious room. As she glanced up she noticed the locks of golden hair and bright blue eyes. With the sight alone she was so overcome with emotion she could not control herself from running to embrace him.Prince Blueblood's eyes were wide with horror and the alicorn charged towards him and tackled him to the ground. He grunted in response, barley able to breathe as the princess replied with such random nonsense about goddesses and for some reason calling him Link. He turned to glance at the guards who had accompanied him to her bedchamber, seeking guidance on how to handle this unique situation. They just gave a shrug in response.
Zelda stopped for a moment, her grip loosening enough for the prince to finally get some much needed air. As she realized this wasn't her hero coming to save her she stepped back, returning her gaze to the ground with her cheeks flushed in embarrassment and eyes drooped in sadness. After Blueblood took a minute to regain his composure he examined the distraught princess. He knew now this wasn't the beloved Princess Celestia as her actions were not as dignified. However, despite the way she had greeted him, he decided to remain cordial and introduce himself properly as any good gentlecolt would do.
"My name is Prince Blueblood" he spoke in a polite manner, noticing her gaze shift toward him as he spoke "Might I inquire what your name is?"
"My name is Princess Zelda" the pink alicorn replied in a soft tone. That was a start. When he asked where she was from, he used his magic to pull a large map with the surrounding territories around Equestria on it. He looked all over for a sector she called Hyrule, but alas there was no such place. He could tell that the mare in front of her was not insane, so perhaps she was from a land far beyond their borders. He shuddered thinking that perhaps she had come past the dreaded Griffon Highlands, with whom their ties with their leaders had become strained in the most recent years. Sighing in defeat, he laid the map on the floor carelessly. Some pony would pick it up later anyway.
While the white unicorn had been staring at the rather large map the princess took the time to examine the pictures on the wall. One in particular stood out to her, and she walked toward it to examine it further. On one side of the picture there was a pristine white alicorn, smiling as she stood next to a younger unicorn with purple skin and mane. She could tell they were not related, but perhaps they were close friends. Curious, she called over the prince who had just recently thrown the map off to the side. "Who are these two in the picture?" She asked politely, turning back to stare at the image she was so transfixed on.
"The one on the left is our dear Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria." He smiled with pride as he added "And my aunt." The new princess looked on him in disbelief and awe while the guards just groaned in response.
"And the purple one?" Zelda questioned, taking a moment to glance at herself in the mirror. Suddenly she remembered the guard previously calling her Princess Celestia. However her thoughts were prevented from thinking further into it as the stallion gave a response.
"Her? That is Twilight Sparkle" he spoke with a tint of disgust in his voice "She is the bookworm my aunt took on to have as her personal student. She currently lives in Ponyville with her friends." He shook his head, trying to take out the idea that the one pony who knew his aunt better than anyone else was some lowlife of a unicorn. But as he glanced back at the hanging image, an idea emerged from the shadows of his mind.
"THAT'S IT!" Blueblood exclaimed, eyes shining brightly as he hurriedly ran over to the oak desk in the corner and pulled out a quill and paper with his magic. Startled by his sudden outburst, the guards and Zelda watched as he transcribed a quick letter and sealed it before handing it to the guard closest to him. "Go ahead, send it to Miss Sparkle!" he remarked, smiling in triumph. The guard picked it up gently with his magic, looking at it quizzically as he headed down the hallway to throw it into a green torch that illuminated the corridor. As he watched the paper engulf in flames he finally understood what the so-called prince had just done.
If only they had thought of that sooner.

in answer to your questions 1. Blueblood basically sent a letter to Twilight (the green flame was the way to send it through spike for normal ponies, should an emergency occur) and 2. It's based off of Twilight Princess
