She lies there all alone
With no one there to love her
Her life was filled with sorrow, fear
and loneliness
she had no hand to hold
no shoulder to cry on
no one to hold her
and tell her everything's going to be ok
darkness surrounds her
no light exists here
bruises cover her almond colored skin
her cloths are ragged
and full of dirt
yet no one stops to help her
they walk on by
and leave her there
they don't look into her melancholy eyes
they don't notice the tears of despair
they walk on
uncaring of the cruel world they live in
or of the cruel world they live in
they have no compassion
no heart
no love within them
her breaths are ragged
her heartbeat faint
her time limited
only minutes left
yet no one cares or glances back
as her eyes slide shut
and her breathing stops
and her heart goes silent
she lived her life alone
and ended it the same
her eyes slowly open to a bright light
her rags are gone
replaced by a simple white gown
her bruises are gone
and color fills her cheeks
she hurts no more
she feels the presents of someone near
her eyes find a man all dressed in white
with eyes full of love and understanding
she takes his hand
and smiles for the first time
"Welcome home, my daughter"
he says as tears fill his eyes
she knows she is lonely no more
she knows she loved
as she embraces him
she knows there will be no more pain
for she is in heaven
safe and loved forever
