Description
My mom liked her first gift so much that she insisted I draw this one too! This one is of my late maternal grandmother. She was the only grandparent I was privileged to know; the rest passed away too soon. She was a strong lady who had worked very hard to support her children. She was also a very loving person. She died when I was 12 due to heart complications.
Done with reference material in my sketchbook using F, 6H, HB, 2B, 4B and 8B pencils and a red Stabilo colour pencil.

Another truly amazing piece. Really beautiful, love the detail, shadows, texture and the warmness this brings.

From your description of your late grandmother, you seem to have captured her character and strength, not just a physical likeness...what a wonderful gift!

Well done. Very photo-like. One comment though, the red dot (whatever you call that) looks somewhat flat. You should give it some contrast of tone so that it'll blend in better with the rest of the drawing. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the comment and the suggestion!
The red dot is called a pottu. This one was superimposed on the reference picture so I suppose that's why it looks kinda flat

Very nice work, and it means even more when it's a relative you loved.
