It was actually very clear.

If you let The Reaper VI talk you into reprogramming the galaxy (Synthesis) then the entire galaxy is modified to fit reaper ideals and the Cycle ends because the VI finally won for good.

If you follow TIM's idea and try to control the Reapers (Control) then the Reapers are - for the moment - along with all the other synthetics, and possibly even some organics as well, indoctrinated and controlled by a non-sentient VI based off Shepard's brain patterns.

If you get too confused to remember what you were there for (Refusal) then the Reapers win the battle and the Cycle continues.

If you stick to the plan and destroy the Reapers (Destroy) then the Reapers (unfortunately along with all other AIs) are DESTROYED.  Which means, that the war was finally won and the cycle broken, albeit with heavy casualties.

If you do any of this with a low military asset rating, add Earth getting blown up.  And Shepard will die even with taking destroy.

All very clear.
