Hello there!

 As promised, here my feedback:

My first thought I had about this was about the composition of the piece. As you probably know already there are four main ways to use focal points to add interest to your image. Light against dark colours, central line shaping, the density of details in one area and the rule of thirds. In your image, you established two of them (mind that this never means you have to do all of them) and that's the light contrast and the rule of thirds, meaning that the essential elements in your picture are in the centre of your image. That surprised me because you used a very nice view on this picture. You decided not to add the character in the centre what you'd normally see, but instead the light switch. And then I came to think and came to the conclusion that Blue appears to just switched the light on and the whole picture is building up on that. That's something I honestly haven't seen yet and it may sound so irrelevant, but for me, that is an excellent way of story telling inside a picture. This makes the whole scene interesting for me and encourages one to explore the picture more.

 And while I do like this part of the composition, the rest of the image is suffering from a simplistic camera perspective. I simply say, it is too flat. There are no 3-dimensional shapes here except for the character or the cup on the desk maybe. So try to think about how this room could look in another angle, which makes it much more intriguing.

 See, the proportions of your interior objects much. Look at your bookshelf, how small it is. Or by comparison of the position of your character and the chair, it looks like you used a high bar chair to sit on your desk... which would be somewhat uncomfortable but also classy if I think about it.

Another, rather minor think I want to address is your use of light. While I find your lighting technique perfectly fine, the whole image is set in cool, I'd say lifeless colours. As if your room had no windows or the jalousie is shut down. Now from every scene with present sunlight you can determine a warm tone wherever it is reflected. You can therefore estimate when the scene is shot. Morning light looks orange, evening light more reddish and mid-day sunlight is yellowish. Because you wanted to tell the audience that there's a sudden event, the on-turning of the light, I had suggested to depict a window that shows your character pulling up the jalousie and the sudden burst of some bright morning light brightens up the room. You'd immediately convey the idea that somebody has just been woken up out of a deep slumber, possibly.

So to recap: your sense of storytelling in a picture is really, really nice, keep that up and keep your focal points in mind. Also, I'd suggest you look at references of real rooms and your own to get a good sense of lighting and positioning of things in 3d perspective.
