Description
First in a series of tutorials which I'll slowly be making in the future. This is to show how to basically construct a snow leopard head from a frontal perspective, more precisely this is how I do it.I thought before I go into detail about feline anatomy in general I'd put out some stuff on my favorite big cat <3 I just love snow leopard anatomy, especially their faces are so much fun to draw!
Next up will be side/profile view.
I hope some of you will find this useful!

I'm glad those tutorials can help others, I'm still always a bit apprehensive about doing them since I'm not perfect in most of these things either... but it's great to see that they're actually helpful!

Why? I really do need this. If you'd be so kind to do a tiger one.... I'll die from happiness!
I've been drawing tigers my whole life, still couldn't get it done as detailed-anatomically-correct as this!

Good tutorial! I found it interesting that the ears are the last thing you draw, though. I usually draw their basic shapes right after establishing head and muzzle, I find them to be the most important part of any expression!

DeyVarah In reply to WerewTerrefGrin [2012-03-27 09:22:00 +0000 UTC]
Thank you. It usually depends on the pose I draw but I tend to draw them last most of the time.
For me the most important part of the expression is the eyes and the area around it.

INCREDIBLY helpful, very well put, and I adore how you broke the entire structure down into simple shapes and examples. I also enjoy how you kept the sketch lines in, to show everything that you did and keep a small guidelines. This will definatly help me when I try and make my own snow leopard. They are such GORGEOUS cats <333

You are wonderful
Ive tried so hard to find tutorials on where to place the lines/fur, and this is exactly what I wanted!! You also were very specific, like 4 rows of whisker dots, the last connecting to the black part of the lip. Its perfect and I'll definitely use this to help me
