Description
Check out more of the participants over hereWorking on a pinup for the Tales Of Avalon comic.
The last one I did for them, was based on Thor. This go around, I thought it would be fun to try Ares. Still getting a feel for him and working my way through the rough sketch phase.

The roughs always end up looking better. Less pressure.

This is very you! I cannot wait to see the rest. The proportions don't bother me at all. I'm a sucker for top heavy Animated style dudes.

The original design you did was great. Now I'm just trying to match that!

It is amazing. I love the style and how sure of it you are. Your confidence is very apparent and it makes for really great art. You have a unique ability to grab someone and make them completely your own while still staying true to the original. It is amazing. I am jealous of your skill. I really like this a lot and I always like to see people's sketches and the like.

You give me far too much credit. I'm stumbling along trying to figure this all out without looking like a fool Thanks for the comment and looking!

itΒ΄s legs may look too short, but since its a cartoon style, it is to be expected. The hairs in the upper right donΒ΄t look as "hairy". Hmmm... that could be a Wolverine or a Barbarian, who knows.

Yeah most of my characters tend to be top heavy with smaller legs. And the hair is still something I'm working on. More of a style thing here. Thanks for commenting!

I think his legs are a bit too short for someone with that build.
His screen left arm also looks a lot bigger than his right, on the one at the very right.

Yeah that's probably so, since I consider these just the rough warmups and trying to figure my way through it. Hopefully I'll have a better eye and fix the finished version
