Description He's gone through a variety of costumes over the years, but I've always liked this one the best.

Actually all these ones I've been uploading lately are just stuff I've done this past week. When I'm inbetween sequentials, then you'll see a lot of these uploaded. And when there's a lull, then I'm back to work on sequentials. heh

ahhh thats a good way to stay loose! I wish i could have that much control with a brush man..... I read a journal entry from sean murphy and he was talking about if you want to ink well you need to be able to control a brush, so I started inking some sketches with a micron brush.... it's so hard to gain a good perception of depth while doing it, sometimes i feel like the tip of the brush is on the paper and it didn't even leave a mark, so i have to do the stroke again and then i end up doing it too thick... bleh it's tough, you are definitely a role model=]

Well I've never been much of a brush inker to be honest. I'm still trying to figure it all out myself. Sean is a master of tools though so definitely listen to everything he has to say.

Yep anything I draw where I'm inking myself, it's brush pen. Anything where I'm inking sequentials over other people, it's mainly nib.

ahhh okay, what are the benefits of nibs over microns?

The flow of ink out of a nib is based on the tip size and the pressure applied (and thus you're able to get thin-to-think and thick-to-thin). With microns, you get one static line, and to make it thicker, you have to redraw the line over and over to thicken it up. That's why microns are suited more for just background elements (buildings, machinery, etc) and panel borders.
