Description
My friend has found a old photo of my pony from his previous owners (the one above). Probably it shows the time he was broken up and ridden, which was when he was less then 1,5 years old!And below is a recent photo of me riding him to compare. I did nothing special, only bought this guy, put him in a nice stall with enough hay and oats, walked with him a lot and gave him my love. All those simple things which he lacked before. And I'm proud to see the difference they made with this horse.
Btw, when I bought him, he was told to be a 4 year old Shetland X Bashkir cross. While actually it was a 2 year old Transbaikalian

He's beautiful, but it's horrible (the first photo)!

Jesus that is awful. Did you get him checked out by a vet before this? I can't imagine them mistaking a 4-year-old for a yearling.

Oh yeah, totally agree. And no mistakes, they *knew* he was 1,5 when they started to ride him. It's bloody buisiness made for the price of horse's health. There are thousands of horses exploited in rent stables: young, old, ill, lame, lean and exhausted, - while they can be ridden and therefor earn money, they will work. And when they finally become unable to work they are sold to the slaughter - yum yum horsey sausages (don't mind me being sarcastic). That's really awful.
My boy is absolutely healthy though, thank you His movements are not that nice, he tends to patter the forelegs and his gallop can be awry, but that's all!))

1.5 years...I thought that first picture looked ridiculously off. It's a shame people think it's OK to break horses/ponies that early; all it equals is long-term back and/or leg problems. :/
He looks happy in your care; and wow has he got some amazing markings and conformation! I've never even heard of a Transbaikalian pony; I feel soo ignorant now.
