Yeah, considering the looks of the designs of those girls. It's no surprise what the writers are doing to them given there target audience(horny teenage boys.) wants only cheap fanservice. On the one hand as a perv I can appreciate the whoring out of those girls, but as a fan I feel what they are doing is destroying any chance of this series being taken seriously outside Japan. It's like Ikkitousen all over again!

I agree with what you say. But I have to admit, I loath the Ikkitousen cast while I like Queens Blade's. I just hope the DVDs succeed in the US considering the slump of anime popularity in America. Case and point the failure of Monster (one of the best TV series ever let alone anime) finding an audience. As pervy as it is I like the series and I think the Dub adds to the absurdity, particularly the voice of Mellona (Lisa Ortiz/LINA INVERSE! under a pen name)and Nanael(Jessica Calvello/EXCEL!)

I havn't seen the english version yet, but I doubt it will do well in the states. Too pervy, too little story, lack luster action scenes, and the animation style of the show is too generic. Which is a shame cause I would love an english version of the Queen's Blade PSP game. Cattleya would be my highest level character.

I have to disagree with the lack of story and the poor animation being the series shortcomings. If anything I think the lack of story is the its strength. Other pervy series like Eiken, The New Cutey Honey, Jungle De Ikko, and Ikki Tousen suffer from having a plot and halfhearted drama. Queen's on the other hand does not attempt to become something its not. The creators and staff strode to make the first true T&AD&D with chicks just creaming each other only to find they all lust after each other (Seriously, I think Catteya and Ymir are the only straight ones in the series) As for animation quality America is guilty of loving some of the worse animated anime out there i.e. Pokemon, Yugioh, DBZ, and Evangelion. Finally I end this rant with the most damming thing about the series: Men are the series worse critics. Men pan this series left and right wile women seem to greatly enjoy it. In conventions I attended I saw more Airi, Nanael, and Mellona than Rei or Asuka cosplayers. And my theory is this, as pervy as Queen's Blade is, not for a moment, does it victimize women. I have to confess, even though I am the worse kind of perv, I am a hard core feminist. In the majority of anime, even where there are tough woman, they are always horridly injured or made secondary by men, even in ecchi series. Queen's on the other hand is, at heart, all about: Women ruling the world, hell, and the heavens while wearing Lady Gaga costumes. That I believe attracts the female audience. Rant over.
