This is a mais-ification of a conversation that happened in the comments (though I can't remember for which mais art) between *CoconutLimeDree , ~SuperSmashWolves and myself.THAT BALL WAS ENTIRELY JUSTIFIED!!!
I'll let ~SuperSmashWolves decide if it's "canon", but I think it is. Because the awkwardness and shyness might be adorable and endearing, but Kariki's been in great need of a ball to the head.
I also wanted to do this to practice comics with text and dialogue because my entry comic will have a lot of those, and since I don't do them very often, I wanted to try it out.
... now Nina needs a hug.

like maybe she was playing with some wild meliae one evening and wound up falling asleep on a fallen leaf with them all cuddled up to her and he was treasure hunting when he came across her and like.....i dunno......cuddles up to her or something XD (I dunno cause cannonly he hasn't asked her out yet. XD)
