Gr8t vid! One thing I've been curious ince ur Thor vid: How do u pull off Stright lines w a Cintiq? In SketchBook Pro, it has a ruller/perspectiv tool, but havent been able to pull off convincing lines w/digital pencils

I know that I'm probably going to be crucified for this question, but I'm curious about the role of the inker in the process of comic book production. I read the comment by Mr. Brooks stating that inking by hand makes the image look better than if the inking had been done in the computer. But with photoshop as a tool why is a dedicated inker needed? Is it to speed up the production of the book, so as to remove some of the responsibilities from the artist and colorist? I'm by no means trying to devalue the inkers contribution to the process, I'm just trying to understand what their role is.

man, oh man. at first i was like "Ah cool, Nightcrawler's Kinda back...and then I seen the video link......It started with sketching and then System of a Down's "Ariels" kicked in....i don't remember much after that because i was busy being BLOWN AWAY....i woke up half clad in the lower half of a bigfoot suit in the middle of the woods with my computer plugged into a tree. Mjolnir in my left hand, a Tron identity disc around my neck and drawing with my right hand and Beethoven's 9th blaring into my ear.....none of that happened...but it FELT like it. The point is, it was inspiring. I've been sketching and drawing for a coupe and a half decades now and how you digitally draw never occurred to me. So, I've found new purpose for my HP Touchsmart 300 computer and stylus....and now I'm on my 7th hour behind the computer, Mindless Self Indulgence: Shut Me Up blaring in my ear and now I have to go to bed so I can wake up in a few hours for "real" work....long story short...badass technique, badass art, badass video and just plain badass. Thank you....also the Black Cat you draw is a damn fine one....maybe needs bigger boobs tho....MAYBE....that is all. *BAMF*

Mark, I saw that you set up your brush to simulate a pencil. In this case, as you say you have an inker, how this guy works in your draw? You send the file or printed?

Very cool. Thanks for sharing this. I've only been using a cintiq for a couple of weeks, and wonder if you can tell us about the brushes you draw with.
