Story

Personality :
Ice Light is the « perfect stallion », so to speak. He is a gentleman, kind and understanding, as well as being very intelligent. He is always ready to take care of his close ones. Generous and sensitive, he is also a protective and honest pony, ready to sacrifice his life for others, especially for a certain unicorn with ruby pink eyes that Ice Light is madly in love with. This natural humility makes him forget himself sometimes and underestimate himself. He is very studious and gets very good marks in school even though he doesn't like school. He has a great sense of humor but knows how to be serious when the moment requires it. Unlike his family, he is very close to his friends and especially to Diamant who is certainly the most important person in the life of the young teenager.

Baby-Toddler Years:
Young Prince Ice Light was born in a remote and small kingdom, long forgotten by all, called the Shimmering Kingdom. The third and youngest of three sons, Ice Light grows up in a peaceful and loving environment, although he sometimes feels left out by one of his older brothers: Lens, who wants to keep his twin brother Luck to himself. This does not prevent Luck and Ice from being quite close. Moreover, Ice Light being the last of the family, it is obvious that he has no chance to reach the throne one day, which honestly doesn't bother him at all, quite the contrary. Because of his genealogical position, he receives little attention from his parents who focus on Luck, which pushes Ice Light to become very independent for his age.

Filly Years:
However, an unfortunate event came to break the family's happiness. One night when Ice Light was only 4 years old, a terrible fire broke out in the castle. While everyone was asleep, it was too late to prevent the inevitable. When they realized the situation, the three brothers tried to escape. Lens was able to get out of the room and then the palace, but when Ice Light tried to escape, the beams of the structure collapsed, almost killing the young boy. In truth Ice was saved by Luck who pushed him and sacrificed his life to save his brother's saddle. That night, all members of the royal family escaped unharmed, except for Luck. Ice Light became the scapegoat of his family and his parents blamed him as the murderer of his brother. As a result, Ice Light felt very guilty, he was only a child after all, and thought that his parents were right.
The day after the tragedy, his parents, not being able to bear the loss of their elder son, decided to leave everything. They abandoned the kingdom without a word and moved to a small house in the border the Crystal Empire.

Their relationship lasted about 1 year, however Ice Light was unable to say the famous 3 little magic words to Camelia while Camelia kept telling him that she loved him almost every 2 hours. So when Camelia was forced to move, Ice Light decided to break up with her believing that the distance between them would make the breakup easier to accept for the young pony. The fact is that Ice Light had no feelings for his girlfriend, he liked her and got along well with her, but he didn't love her, unlike her who was convinced that she had found the love of her life. It was very hard for Camelia who did not understand the decision of her boyfriend, she was heartbroken. Ice Light, on the other hand, felt very guilty for having made his friend suffer and lost contact with her. This additional guilt gnawed at him for a long time.
One year later, while Ice was walking briskly down a street in the Crystal Empire, carrying guitar parts to assist his friend Lonny in a singing contest, he inadvertently bumped into a young unicorn with ruby pink eyes. The two young ponies were both in a hurry, so they didn't bother to even ask each other's names. The blue unicorn and the orange pegasus continued on their way without knowing that this brief encounter would change their lives forever. In truth, Ice Light was smitten that day, although the only memory he kept were the girl's glowing eyes and a strange document bearing the royal seal that he had surely recovered by accident, of this love at first sight he was of course unaware.
It is now two weeks later, Ice Light was not thinking at all about the previous incident. He discovered that this unicorn was none other than Princess Diamant Amore-Sparkle, heir to the crystal throne and future empress. After that day, the two ponies kept in touch and became good friends.
After a year of friendship, Diamant, who has always been a good investigator, discovered that Ice was hiding a big secret. Realizing that her best friend was actually a fallen prince, Diamant was lost, doubting of herself, of her trust in Ice and their friendship (yes Diamant has trouble trusting). She pushed Ice away as he tried to explain everything to her. Nevertheless, after hearing the full explanation, she finally understood the reason why Ice had hidden such information from her. She even helped him to accept who he was, finally fully assuming his royal origin.
This acceptance led Diamant to offer the young pegasus a place in the Crystal Academy in her mother's class next fall. Ice Light and Cadance both agreed.

Present :
So Ice Light entered Cadiance at the age of 16 as a prince of the Shimmering Kingdom.
However, this perfect setting was only an illusion. Something, or rather someone, was tormenting Ice. Yes, it was none other than our favorite crystal princess. The young pegasus was perfectly aware of feeling something different for the young highness, something more powerful than friendship, but he could not put a name to this feeling. It was with the help of his best friend Theo that he was able to understand: in truth he was in love with our unicorn and this feeling terrified him because, how can I put it, was apparently not very sentimental, considering that love was a ridiculous thing and totally useless to a future empress. So he tried as best he could to repress his feelings. Nevertheless this effort was so important that he could not resist longer than a few months. Therefore, encouraged by Theo, Ice Light took his courage in both hands, or rather hooves, and confessed to our young unicorn his feelings, just a few days before the famous Crystal Fair. Diamant, obviously and as usual, was extremely shocked, and even more, she was terrified by this revelation. Ice Light, who was far from being stupid, had anticipated his friend's reaction, so he gave her a 3-day delay before handing over his final verdict.
Nevertheless, chance makes things bad and a awful events came to distract the princess. Indeed, the Crystal Empire was attacked by the Shadow Child who turned all the citizens into stone statues. During the final battle, only two ponies were left standing: Diamant and Ice Light. The latter sacrificed himself to save his friend from a shadow ray and was turned into stone. Without going into details, Diamant, thanks to her purifying magic, managed to save everyone, but she used a spell so powerful that her body could not withstand it, the second she finished her spell, she fell down and fainted. Fortunately she was rescued by a mysterious unicorn, who turned out to be Ice Light. Indeed Ice Light had completely changed his appearance, he had become a unicorn and had put on a blue dress instead of his usual orange dress. Actually the only thing he had kept was his Cutie Mark. Of course, Ice Light felt lost, he didn't understand why he was the only one to have changed, or even why he had changed, what could it mean?
He was also convinced that the only pony who could give him answers was the same pony who had defeated the shadow child. However, Diamant did not wake up, she spent 6 days in a kind of coma/deep sleep. And when she finally woke up, the guilt of having deprived her best friend of the ability to fly gnawed at her so much that she did everything in her power to avoid Ice Light. On the other hand, our handsome prince was desperate to see the person he needed the most get away from him. Obviously this situation could not last forever and Diamant, pushed by a certain pale pink alicorn with purple and blue hair, went in spite of herself to talk to Ice. Our young princess was frightened and confessed to Ice Light that she couldn't have a boyfriend, she was far from being ready. The latter, as a good gentle pony that he is, reassured her and certified that he would be able to forget his feelings to be satisfied with a beautiful friendship. He also told her that he was happy as a unicorn and that she shouldn't feel guilty for his sudden change. There was a reason and Ice Light was going to find it.
Our two royal friends obviously remained very close, as if nothing had happened, even if we could see a small change in Diamant's behavior. Ice took some magic lessons and helped Diamant to understand that his own magic was special, and that this could explain why Ice Light had become a unicorn. He hypothesized that just as the shadow child was purified by Diamant's spell, his true nature could have been revealed, purified by the shards of the spell. This thesis was accepted by most.
A few months passed and life seemed perfect. But as they say, who chases the natural and it comes back at a gallop, and Diamant's nature to attract all the crazy ponies in the area caused a new incident. (yes I know I'm hard on Diamant lol) Indeed, while the two friends had gone to the mountain, a surprise was waiting for Diamant when she would returned. Kail, his former childhood best friend who had always had a crush on our unicorn. When Kail realized that Diamant had replaced him, he was mad with rage and wanted to take Ice Light's place. Seeing that he could not achieve his goals he went to confront the princess. In a fit of anger he physically attacked Diamant who was once again saved by our venerable Ice Light. Kail was then sent to Tartarus.
Paralyzed to become like Kail because of his ever growing feelings for Diamant, he made a heavy decision, he had to confess his feelings again and this time if Diamant refused he would have to make a definitive cross on her, in love as in friendship because this relationship made him suffer too much. It's true, seeing the girl he loves being attacked and almost dying every two minutes must be very hard. So Ice confessed his feelings again, gave her a day to answer, and surprisingly, this time Diamant didn't feel like running away and hiding in a hole. She was no longer scared, just lost. She was now aware of feeling something strong for Ice Light, but just like Ice at the time she couldn't define it. So with the help of Flurry (and yes it is our alicorn mentioned earlier) she realized that she loved the boy too. Now she just needed to tell him and she did. She kissed Ice, then ran away because we're still talking about Diamant and the next day when she went back to Ice to apologize, he reassured her and became her boyfriend. Hallelujah it's not too early after two years of friendship the two are finally together! YAY
A few weeks after the beginning of their love relationship, because nothing is ever really rosy, Ice crossed his ex-girlfriend Camelia who proposed him a dinner at her and her mother's place. Ice Light, very respectful of his new girlfriend, asked for Diamant's agreement who, having total confidence in Ice (and believe me it's rare) accepted. The evening was charming and everything went perfectly, or at least in appearance, but we'll come back to that later. Life resumed its normal course and everything went for the best. So much so that Diamant had a crazy idea, what would happen if Ice Light decided to return to his native Kingdom as a prince or as a simple visitor? This is what we will see now. Indeed Ice Light, convinced by Diamant and of course accompanied by the latter, returned to the Shimmering Kingdom to see the damage of the departure of his family 12 years earlier. Ice Light expected to see a new monarch at the head of the country who would have taken the place of his parents and who would have made the country prosperous. But surprisingly none of these expectations were true. The citizens of the kingdom had never chosen another ruler, they had always remained loyal to the royal family, convinced that they would return soon, and always hopeful. However, with no one left to rule the kingdom it seemed to be in tatters, the buildings were on the verge of ruin and the store shelves were almost empty, these ponies definitely needed a king. It was then with great pleasure that they welcomed the return of the third missing prince, seeing it as a sign of fate. They wanted Ice to become their ruler, now and immediately. It is true that Ice was a bit panicked when he heard this request, but with the support of Diamant, he understood that it was his duty. It was the path that his Cutie Mark had always indicated to him, he would be king. He initiated the reconstruction of the country and was crowned, naming Diamant as his queen of honor.
Obviously, not being able to be on site 100% of the time due to his studies, he appointed a temporary prime minister to manage the kingdom for him. However, while he was away, this prime minister took the opportunity to take control of the kingdom, thus becoming their evil queen. Ice and Dia, upon hearing the news, immediately returned home and attempted to stop her. At first imprisoned in a castle cell, they found a way to escape and confronted the pseudo-queen. In battle, with the power of their love and a little bit magic, they defeated the villain at a heavy price. To do so, they had to break the central Crystallite, a stone that was essential to the preservation of the kingdom's magic. The shockwave was so intense that the fallen prime minister was knocked out. But something more intense happened: a pony came out of the crystal, Luck. Diamant and Ice were stunned, frozen in place as the supposedly dead pony stood before them. It turned out that Luck, when he died, was saved by the stone which locked him in a kind of limbo for 12 years.
After that day, Ice's parents were happy, not at all upset that their son had returned to the kingdom, and their relationship with Ice gradually improved.
However I tell you and nothing is ever rosy for long in the Crystal Empire. There is always a pony to spoil the mood and this time it was Camelia, the ex-girlfriend of our young king. Camelia devised a Machiavellian plan to break up our two highnesses, she doctored old photos to make Diamant believe that something had happened the night Ice Light had dinner at her house. Suffering from a compulsive trust disorder, Diamant got scared, thought it was all true because YES she was psyching too much, got heartbroken and ran away (again). Ice, frightened by the situation, confronted Camilia, but seeing that the discussion was not possible, he went to see Diamant who ignored him (yes I know she is exhausting sometimes). During this time of crying and tears, Theo was in charge of gathering evidence to open the eyes of our unicorn. Nevertheless the evolution of character makes well the things and Diamant realized her error, she had confidence in Ice, more than in anybody besides. So she went back to him to apologize, she believed Ice. Camelia was kinda banished from the empire and she was forgotten (even if she tried a second time to attack Diamant but nothing too alarming).
Last complication to these first months of relations, the discovery of a secret brother by Ice and Dia (yes yes a hidden brother). While the two of them were quietly tidying up the library, an old photo fell out of a book, showing Ice's mother, pregnant and very young, but the chronology was wrong, Ice's mother should not have been pregnant at that age. They deduced that Ice had an older brother who was adopted. With a little help, Ice was able to track him down and get in touch with him. Despite the anger of his parents Ice became close to Sammy.
After all of this, yes life returned to normal for Ice. YAY

Young Adult:
At the age of 18, after spending 3 years at the Crystal Academy, Ice graduated with honors. He took over his kingdom where he settled. Two years later, when Twilight proposed to Diamant to become the Princess of Harmony in Equestria and beyond, Ice supported his beloved in making this weighty decision. At the age of 22 he moved to the Crystal Empire with Diamant and proposed to her 4 years later after a 10 year relationship. They were married in front of all their loved ones in the crystal gardens and began a new chapter in their lives.

Adult Life:
At the age of 30, Ice will have the chance to become the father of a minnow-eyed unicorn named Diamond Heart. He will also be the father of a fiery alicorn named Dream Light. In spite of some small difficulty with Diamond Heart as a teenager and his more than proficient instincts sending Dream Light, Ice, Diamant and their two daughters formed the perfect family. Everything was going great.

Pre-G5 Period / G5 Period:
After about a century spent at his wife's side in the Crystal Empire, assisting her in her role as empress and then regent of the empire, he moved to Canterlot when Diamant abandoned her political duties in the empire to resume her role as princess of harmony full-time. This abandonment prompted them to leave the Empire for the city of the Council of Nine.
Once in Canterlot, Ice Light led a more or less peaceful life until the peace between the ponies of Equestria was threatened by a greedy little alicorn taken under the wing of the Princess of Friendship herself. When the crazy idea of the Unit Crystals came into Twilight's head, Diamant began a fierce opposition to her aunt, considering it as a dictatorial measure. Ice Light supported his wife and became her last and only ally. At the same time, Ice Light developed a strong relationship with Astral Luminous Star, Diamant's young student, whom he considered his daughter. He was heartbroken when Diamant, for some reason, sent Astral away, but he managed to recover with the help of his beloved.
Centuries later, about 3 or 4, Ice finally died after a long illness. Without much surprise his last words were for Diamant, I quote: " Diamant you are amazing, please never ever change, you are perfect just the way you are. Didi.......I will.......always......love you!" A millennium later, Ice was back as a spirit to save Diamant when she succumbed to her evil side. After these few adventures the two lived happily ever after and that's the end!

It was with the help of his best friend Theo that he was able to understand: in truth he was in love with our unicorn and this feeling terrified him because, how can I put it, was apparently not very sentimental, considering that love was a ridiculous thing and totally useless to a future empress. So he tried as best he could to repress his feelings. Nevertheless this effort was so important that he could not resist longer than a few months. Therefore, encouraged by Theo, Ice Light took his courage in both hands, or rather hooves, and confessed to our young unicorn his feelings, just a few days before the famous Crystal Fair. Diamant, obviously and as usual, was extremely shocked, and even more, she was terrified by this revelation. Ice Light, who was far from being stupid, had anticipated his friend's reaction, so he gave her a 3-day delay before handing over his final verdict.
Nevertheless, chance makes things bad and a awful events came to distract the princess. Indeed, the Crystal Empire was attacked by the Shadow Child who turned all the citizens into stone statues. During the final battle, only two ponies were left standing: Diamant and Ice Light. The latter sacrificed himself to save his friend from a shadow ray and was turned into stone. Without going into details, Diamant, thanks to her purifying magic, managed to save everyone, but she used a spell so powerful that her body could not withstand it, the second she finished her spell, she fell down and fainted. Fortunately she was rescued by a mysterious unicorn, who turned out to be Ice Light. Indeed Ice Light had completely changed his appearance, he had become a unicorn and had put on a blue dress instead of his usual orange dress. Actually the only thing he had kept was his Cutie Mark. Of course, Ice Light felt lost, he didn't understand why he was the only one to have changed, or even why he had changed, what could it mean?
He was also convinced that the only pony who could give him answers was the same pony who had defeated the shadow child. However, Diamant did not wake up, she spent 6 days in a kind of coma/deep sleep. And when she finally woke up, the guilt of having deprived her best friend of the ability to fly gnawed at her so much that she did everything in her power to avoid Ice Light. On the other hand, our handsome prince was desperate to see the person he needed the most get away from him. Obviously this situation could not last forever and Diamant, pushed by a certain pale pink alicorn with purple and blue hair, went in spite of herself to talk to Ice. Our young princess was frightened and confessed to Ice Light that she couldn't have a boyfriend, she was far from being ready. The latter, as a good gentle pony that he is, reassured her and certified that he would be able to forget his feelings to be satisfied with a beautiful friendship. He also told her that he was happy as a unicorn and that she shouldn't feel guilty for his sudden change. There was a reason and Ice Light was going to find it.
Our two royal friends obviously remained very close, as if nothing had happened, even if we could see a small change in Diamant's behavior. Ice took some magic lessons and helped Diamant to understand that his own magic was special, and that this could explain why Ice Light had become a unicorn. He hypothesized that just as the shadow child was purified by Diamant's spell, his true nature could have been revealed, purified by the shards of the spell. This thesis was accepted by most.
A few months passed and life seemed perfect. But as they say, who chases the natural and it comes back at a gallop, and Diamant's nature to attract all the crazy ponies in the area caused a new incident. (yes I know I'm hard on Diamant lol) Indeed, while the two friends had gone to the mountain, a surprise was waiting for Diamant when she would returned. Kail, his former childhood best friend who had always had a crush on our unicorn. When Kail realized that Diamant had replaced him, he was mad with rage and wanted to take Ice Light's place. Seeing that he could not achieve his goals he went to confront the princess. In a fit of anger he physically attacked Diamant who was once again saved by our venerable Ice Light. Kail was then sent to Tartarus.
Paralyzed to become like Kail because of his ever growing feelings for Diamant, he made a heavy decision, he had to confess his feelings again and this time if Diamant refused he would have to make a definitive cross on her, in love as in friendship because this relationship made him suffer too much. It's true, seeing the girl he loves being attacked and almost dying every two minutes must be very hard. So Ice confessed his feelings again, gave her a day to answer, and surprisingly, this time Diamant didn't feel like running away and hiding in a hole. She was no longer scared, just lost. She was now aware of feeling something strong for Ice Light, but just like Ice at the time she couldn't define it. So with the help of Flurry (and yes it is our alicorn mentioned earlier) she realized that she loved the boy too. Now she just needed to tell him and she did. She kissed Ice, then ran away because we're still talking about Diamant and the next day when she went back to Ice to apologize, he reassured her and became her boyfriend. Hallelujah it's not too early after two years of friendship the two are finally together! YAY
A few weeks after the beginning of their love relationship, because nothing is ever really rosy, Ice crossed his ex-girlfriend Camelia who proposed him a dinner at her and her mother's place. Ice Light, very respectful of his new girlfriend, asked for Diamant's agreement who, having total confidence in Ice (and believe me it's rare) accepted. The evening was charming and everything went perfectly, or at least in appearance, but we'll come back to that later. Life resumed its normal course and everything went for the best. So much so that Diamant had a crazy idea, what would happen if Ice Light decided to return to his native Kingdom as a prince or as a simple visitor? This is what we will see now. Indeed Ice Light, convinced by Diamant and of course accompanied by the latter, returned to the Shimmering Kingdom to see the damage of the departure of his family 12 years earlier. Ice Light expected to see a new monarch at the head of the country who would have taken the place of his parents and who would have made the country prosperous. But surprisingly none of these expectations were true. The citizens of the kingdom had never chosen another ruler, they had always remained loyal to the royal family, convinced that they would return soon, and always hopeful. However, with no one left to rule the kingdom it seemed to be in tatters, the buildings were on the verge of ruin and the store shelves were almost empty, these ponies definitely needed a king. It was then with great pleasure that they welcomed the return of the third missing prince, seeing it as a sign of fate. They wanted Ice to become their ruler, now and immediately. It is true that Ice was a bit panicked when he heard this request, but with the support of Diamant, he understood that it was his duty. It was the path that his Cutie Mark had always indicated to him, he would be king. He initiated the reconstruction of the country and was crowned, naming Diamant as his queen of honor.
Obviously, not being able to be on site 100% of the time due to his studies, he appointed a temporary prime minister to manage the kingdom for him. However, while he was away, this prime minister took the opportunity to take control of the kingdom, thus becoming their evil queen. Ice and Dia, upon hearing the news, immediately returned home and attempted to stop her. At first imprisoned in a castle cell, they found a way to escape and confronted the pseudo-queen. In battle, with the power of their love and a little bit magic, they defeated the villain at a heavy price. To do so, they had to break the central Crystallite, a stone that was essential to the preservation of the kingdom's magic. The shockwave was so intense that the fallen prime minister was knocked out. But something more intense happened: a pony came out of the crystal, Luck. Diamant and Ice were stunned, frozen in place as the supposedly dead pony stood before them. It turned out that Luck, when he died, was saved by the stone which locked him in a kind of limbo for 12 years.
After that day, Ice's parents were happy, not at all upset that their son had returned to the kingdom, and their relationship with Ice gradually improved.
However I tell you and nothing is ever rosy for long in the Crystal Empire. There is always a pony to spoil the mood and this time it was Camelia, the ex-girlfriend of our young king. Camelia devised a Machiavellian plan to break up our two highnesses, she doctored old photos to make Diamant believe that something had happened the night Ice Light had dinner at her house. Suffering from a compulsive trust disorder, Diamant got scared, thought it was all true because YES she was psyching too much, got heartbroken and ran away (again). Ice, frightened by the situation, confronted Camilia, but seeing that the discussion was not possible, he went to see Diamant who ignored him (yes I know she is exhausting sometimes). During this time of crying and tears, Theo was in charge of gathering evidence to open the eyes of our unicorn. Nevertheless the evolution of character makes well the things and Diamant realized her error, she had confidence in Ice, more than in anybody besides. So she went back to him to apologize, she believed Ice. Camelia was kinda banished from the empire and she was forgotten (even if she tried a second time to attack Diamant but nothing too alarming).
Last complication to these first months of relations, the discovery of a secret brother by Ice and Dia (yes yes a hidden brother). While the two of them were quietly tidying up the library, an old photo fell out of a book, showing Ice's mother, pregnant and very young, but the chronology was wrong, Ice's mother should not have been pregnant at that age. They deduced that Ice had an older brother who was adopted. With a little help, Ice was able to track him down and get in touch with him. Despite the anger of his parents Ice became close to Sammy.
After all of this, yes life returned to normal for Ice. YAY

Young Adult:
At the age of 18, after spending 3 years at the Crystal Academy, Ice graduated with honors. He took over his kingdom where he settled. Two years later, when Twilight proposed to Diamant to become the Princess of Harmony in Equestria and beyond, Ice supported his beloved in making this weighty decision. At the age of 22 he moved to the Crystal Empire with Diamant and proposed to her 4 years later after a 10 year relationship. They were married in front of all their loved ones in the crystal gardens and began a new chapter in their lives.

Adult Life:
At the age of 30, Ice will have the chance to become the father of a minnow-eyed unicorn named Diamond Heart. He will also be the father of a fiery alicorn named Dream Light. In spite of some small difficulty with Diamond Heart as a teenager and his more than proficient instincts sending Dream Light, Ice, Diamant and their two daughters formed the perfect family. Everything was going great.

Pre-G5 Period / G5 Period:
After about a century spent at his wife's side in the Crystal Empire, assisting her in her role as empress and then regent of the empire, he moved to Canterlot when Diamant abandoned her political duties in the empire to resume her role as princess of harmony full-time. This abandonment prompted them to leave the Empire for the city of the Council of Nine.
Once in Canterlot, Ice Light led a more or less peaceful life until the peace between the ponies of Equestria was threatened by a greedy little alicorn taken under the wing of the Princess of Friendship herself. When the crazy idea of the Unit Crystals came into Twilight's head, Diamant began a fierce opposition to her aunt, considering it as a dictatorial measure. Ice Light supported his wife and became her last and only ally. At the same time, Ice Light developed a strong relationship with Astral Luminous Star, Diamant's young student, whom he considered his daughter. He was heartbroken when Diamant, for some reason, sent Astral away, but he managed to recover with the help of his beloved.
Centuries later, about 3 or 4, Ice finally died after a long illness. Without much surprise his last words were for Diamant, I quote: " Diamant you are amazing, please never ever change, you are perfect just the way you are. Didi.......I will.......always......love you!" A millennium later, Ice was back as a spirit to save Diamant when she succumbed to her evil side. After these few adventures the two lived happily ever after and that's the end!
