Description Recently I've been immersed in how to make a character design portafolio and I've noticed that it's more difficult than I thought (specially when you have nobody to advise you)

However, thanks to internet and this wonderful blog I learnt some things about what to put in it :D

One of these "things" is the section "Character Line Up " (Yes animation students, stop laughing, I know you already knew it xD)
So, Í'm trying a style without shadows, just flat colors like this other attemp I did appx 6 months ago but in this case, I added a simple line.

*** This is an example or test, she's just my OC Lucerito ^^

What a beautiful line work. It looks so lively when the thickness varies like this.

You've got a great flow with the lines, especially with the wrinkles complimenting the overall shape of the skirt. I also like the negative space inside her hair and left arm.

Gracias Rem! ^^

Hehey, nice to see it a bit step-by-step .
And of course it looks bloody awesome too, heh  .

And have you been delving deeper into the infinite knowledge of making a portfolio ^^? Have you mastered your very skills and become the best of the best?
HAVE YOU CLIMBED THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN AND ARE YOU STANDING ON TOP IF IT ?

DianaMaRble In reply to maxthejedi [2014-06-24 19:52:49 +0000 UTC]

Yay hallo Max!

Uff, it's horrible, I think I've chosen a story with characters too complicated to form part of an animated film... But I love challenges, so I'll do my best! ( I don't want to say what story is because I want it be a secret until the project be finished or more advanced so... surprise!  )

I'M TRYING TO CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN!
xD

I think she is lovely. I really like your rough sketch... it's something I should practice more because I always end up get lost in the details before establishing a solid base sketch :<

DianaMaRble In reply to SaskiaDeKorte [2014-06-24 19:05:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I think the most important thing in a rough sketch is the fluidity and the dynamism, as you say, forget the details, draw the full figure in just some lines and don't worry if they are abstract at first, that's just the composition... but think that it should work good if you want your drawing don't get bored or poorly structured. (It's like making a house haha)
Good Luck! :)

Espero tu semana haya arrancado bonito :3

Igualmente! :)
