Fallout: Equestria, Orthrus Colonial Doctrine

After the ending of the Marewaii Islands over 200 year long isolation from the world, the Newly formed government “Orthus Technocratic Democracy” sought out to finally return to Equestria. This became a time of rapid expansion and technological advancement as the Mirage Ponies of the Marewaii Islands found new lives in a wasteland not like their own and interacted with a far wider array of creatures.

As Orthus set up their colonies, they would also source from the local wastelander population for recruits. But because most of their guns had mirage ponies in mind, the Mirage ponies able to act as their own power source for the technology they use, the wastelands could not, making the general issued guns useless to non Mirage ponies. Newer guns would then be developed, and with the influx of raw resources, Othrus got to work making guns that anyone could use.

What resulted were guns the wasteland had never seen before, both quieter and effectively deadly to outright devastating. The biggest difference to the guns from that of normal ballistics or energy weapons was the exceptionally cheap ammunition they all used, a simple modern minieball.

IF-65 “Enforcer” (Revolver)-

A variant of Ironshods IF-38 "Cornhusker" police pistol, the IF-65 “Enforcer” is more compact, lower profile and designed to not snag when in clothing. Originally made for Ministry of Moral agents the revolver passed between Ministry agents and law enforcement as well loved concealable revolvers. The gun would be adopted by the Orthrus peacekeeping organization after the end of the war.

Given to all members of Orthrus, the gun itself is seen as a symbol of Othuses might, a simple and unassuming gun that is kept out of the way when things are calm, but a powerful death dealer when used. Many veterans of Orthrus become attached to their “Enforcer” often modifying them to make the gun more effective in a fight, including adding a spell talisman to the gun.

AG-M8 “Hailstorm” (Air Submachine Gun)-

The use of airguns had been a cultural practice in the Marewaii Islands for over a hundred years and in that time and with the addition of spell talismans, the humble air gun found its way into military service. The AG-8 “Hailstorm” is the first fully automatic and compact airgun platform developed by Orthrus and Ironshod for use in the wasteland. Though not considered as powerful as conventional SMGs, it uses a 9mm minieball for ammunition, the magazine for a “Hailstorm” can hold twice the amount of bullets, allowing long sustained fire.

The gun gets its power from a back end slotted talisman cartridge, which produces the high air pressure and vortex spin the bullets need to be fired. The cartridge can be easily removed if the magic is drained.

AG-M9 “Tempest” (Airgun Assault Rifle)-

Taking the “Hailstorm” and making it bigger, Orthrus made a highly effective gun platform that uses 50 caliber minieball bullets for its ammo. This assault rifle quickly proved its worth against the enemies of OTD, the rifle was able to compete with larger guns and energy weapons in live combat. The high capacity magazine and bullpup design allowed the gun to have long sustained fire with high accuracy. The rifle can also be made absolutely silent, and is the first choice for those on covert operations, as the gun is an exceptional mid-range sniper rifle.

BLT3 “Derecho” (Bolt Launcher Type 3)-

The third bolt launcher developed by the company “Cornet’s Guns & Knives” for Orthruses scouting core. Using bolts over bullets, the gun excels at damage, but also has the advantage of being able to recover the bolts after firing. The “Derecho” is a modular weapons platform, able to be made a short ranged automatic defence rifle to a long range semi-auto sniper rifle, with the ability of adding extra talamanse for extra magical effect. Because of the moderalbility, the power of a bolt and it’s accrasy, the “Derecho”has replaced most hunting rifles in the Marewaii Metro. The “Derecho” is also seen as a near perfect survivalist rifle, and because of its use among the scouting core, is often the first Orthrus gun most ponies see in the wasteland.

RG-M5 “Deluge” (Rail Light Machine Gun)

Having spent generations perfecting the Railgun, the RG-M5 “Deluge” was the first fully realized infantry railgun. Using steel slugs for ammunition, the “Deluge” is able to fire a high volume of armor piercing rounds at a relatively cheap price. Though mainly used only for defence, the “Deluge” has proven itself able to kill nearly anything, either with one shot, or after several seconds with a hundred shots.

RG-M6 “Thunderclap” (Rail Shotgun) -

A more compact railgun for combat at a closer range, the RG-M6 “Thunderclap” is a gun to be feared. Commonly loaded with a simple steel shot loaded shell, the gun is a tactical mavle with what it can fire. Shot and slugs are commonly used ammo, but the gun can be loaded with flechette, explosive rounds, magically enchanted rounds, and other exotic ammo.

If the gun was not so valuable, and not so carefully watched over, the leadership of Orthrus aumed that the gun would be treated like a blunderbuss, used to shoot whatever can be put inside the shells .
