Garnet Til Alexandros XVII from Final Fantasy IX (2000). This was one of my earlier pieces I worked on (which started very portrait-y), so it’s that exciting (probably woulda done a ‘girls group shot’ since I love this game’s cast)… I never cared for that weird orange unitard thing, but always loved her rocking orange and that awesome head of hair of hers. She's one of my favourite heroines.
….anyone else just “rename her” Garnet? Dagger was a strange name…
She also shared in the best love story for the series, IMO.
I could talk about FF9 for forever <3

I'm watching my husband re-play FF9 now (I never grew up playing it, but he did and I learned about the games through watching him play them) and have really enjoyed all the characters, especially Vivi and Garnet 
You did an amazing job with her kind expression here, as well as with the awesome background! I love the beautiful sunset-y colours, and the way you shade hair is lovely <3 Wonderful work!
(Haha my husband never kept the name "Dagger" either, he re-named her Violet for years until he met me - with this playthrough he gave her my name

Haha I love your comment!! Yeah it's weird but...weirdly fun to draw since it's super unconventional (and easy to colour haha). FF9 is one of my favourite games and in no small part thanks to Vivi and Garnet's major contributions at making me feel feelings. So naturally Im pleased you like the picture
I actually did a fun group shot too if you haven't seen, for a couple gaming together (I love that he uses your name for "Dagger"; it's not hard to beat out the strangeness of that name, and sounds like fun when the hero calls our your name instead, right? x)
