Wir hatten im letzten Jahr eine Invasion! Dieser ist bislang der Erste und Einzige. Mal sehen, was noch kommt, jedenfalls fressen die Engerlinge unsere Wurzeln weg und wir haben einen gewaltigen Schwund an Pflanzen im Garten!

Nein. Fressen nur Pollen und befruchten somit und die Engerlinge fressen im Boden keine Wurzeln, sondern nur verrottendes organisches Material und sind gut für und im Kompost. Im Gegensatz von Maikäfer-Engerlingen, die fressen ganze Wurzeln ab und töten damit sogar ganze Bäume!
