Description Panoramic shot of my current workspace set-up. The perspective came out a bit weird, but I did manage to get almost the whole room in the image. It's a small room (just enough for one person to sit comfortably) but that's cool; it's kind of cozy. As you can see, I've got my monitor set up on one table and a drawing table on the the side. On the left side of my main table is the still life I'm currently working on.

Only thing worth noting really is that I boosted the tables up on boxes to make a standing workstation. The drawing table is actually sitting on two diningroom chairs. In the lower right corner is the stool I can use when I'm tired of standing.

Thank you! Oh the contest, that was months ago. I uploaded this specifically for that contest so it must have been in September. They never judged it or anything, so it's not like you missed much

wow, Ikea table *daydreams*
I wish I had a drawing table like that, but it doesn't fit in my room

Also I love how you keep your monitor on top of books haha! Seems it's the best solution to make it at your eye-level

I saw a really cool monitor stand once that's like a big metal arm that attaches to the table, but it's really expensive. A stack of books works just as well and it doesn't cost anything

Hehe it's only claustrophobic when there's someone else in there with me. Then I'm like "Get away, I need air!!" lol

Oh lol, I know. But in my defense, I didn't choose that color; it was like that when we moved in. I've thought about repainting it a light green but it'd be so much work moving everything out and back in again

Ansheen In reply to dierat [2011-10-02 19:41:34 +0000 UTC]

I suggest you repaint it soon, because the pink is changing the coloring the light in the whole room and it may affect your paintings..

I think that's mostly a concern for traditional painters (and the light would be very problematic as well for traditional painting because the light fixture is that room has a rather orange cast); I haven't heard anything about that being a problem for digital artists. If it does turn out to be a problem, I could just hang white bed sheets to cover up the walls because it's a very small room. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

you're right, if you work only digitally it doesn't affect you at all I was talking from a (mostly)traditional-artist point of view

Maybe you can paint over it an awesome landscape without having to moving everything. Just the top part.

Welcome! Good that you used books to lift up your monitor its really bad to look down all the time on your monitor

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dierat In reply to Mod-a-holic [2011-09-23 19:29:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah definitely; I used to have terrible neck pain from looking down at my monitor all the time. Every monitor should come with a warning or a pamphlet on how to position your monitor ergonomically; it can really hurt your spine to sit like that.

Yeah, eventually, you can get misgrown bones, if starting from a young age. My aunt has it its a shame, thats why my dad and i put up the monitors like this
