2 hour study forI might stay with it for a bit more and see how far I can push it. I'm having a lot of fun with it so far and the texture in the source image is really gorgeous.

Very nice, I love the reflection. You captured there many details and I think it looks good. I haven't been working with b/w much yet, so I can't critique on that topic, but in my opinion you got it pretty well!

There's a few minor dark/light transitions that should be different I think
(for example, the shadow under right eye socket is smoother imo)
but great start nonetheless! Now go add some textures!
